In yet another example of how TPC Sawgrass plays no favorites, this is just the fourth time in 18 starts at the event that Furyk has failed to cash. He went 0-for-15 in birdie chances in today's round, but sunk everything inside 9'3". Overall, he converted on just three of 28 looks at birdie. His consecutive cuts made streak ends at 13.

Furyk has seen the weekend on 14 of his previous 17 occasions, with a T3 in 2006 his best effort. While it wouldn't surprise anyone if he peeked his head onto the leaderboard at some point this week, his penchant for choking down the stretch in 2012 wouldn't play well on the 17th and 18th holes this week. Watery graves lurk around most corners.

Jim Furyk stumbled to a 2-over-par 37-37=74 in the third round of the Masters and enters the final round at 2-under 214.
After opening with three pars, Furyk suffered a double bogey on the difficult par-3 fourth hole. He bounced back with his only two birdies of the round on six and eight to equalize his round, but bogeys on the ninth and par-5 13th would not be erased. He had a good look at birdie on the 18th to end the day but failed to convert.

Jim Furyk backed up his opening 69 at the Masters with a 1-under-par 34-37=71 in his second round to reach the halfway point in 4-under 140, one stroke off the 36-hole clubhouse lead.
Furyk hit 15 greens in regulation today. That paved the way for four birdies, but he swallowed a bogey at the par-3 12th and a double at the par-5 15th. Still, a red number is a good score given today's conditions.

He rolled in all four of his birdies on his opening nine, including three in a row beginning at the par-3 sixth hole. His lone hiccup was a bogey-5 at 9. He'd par every hole thereafter.

Furyk traded two birdies and two bogeys on TPC San Antonio's opening nine, but would play the back without a blemish on the card. His first strike was a birdie from two feet on the par-3 13th, in what was the closest approach of the tournament. His final dagger came at the par-5 18th. Facing a third shot from 104 yards, he landed his wedge just past the hole and spun it back and into the bottom of the cup for a three. With that as his last stroke, he heads to Augusta National for the Masters.

Furyk has ensured that he will be part of the conversation in Sunday's final round, circling five birdies to just two birdies. He thrust himself into the equation with a 14'1" birdie on the first and added another from 3'6" on the par-5 second. He was one of many to give back a bogey on the par-4 fourth, but bounced back with birdies from outside nine feet on the eighth and 10th holes. He squared his final bogey of the day when he failed to get up-and-down on the par-3 13th. He ended his day with a two-putt birdie from 53 feet on the par-5 18th. With just one top 10 on the season thus far, add him to the list of veterans peaking just in time for the Masters.

Furyk managed his game exceptionally well at TPC San Antonio today. He split 10 (of 14) fairways and hit 14 greens in regulation en route to four birdies against one bogey. He opened with three consecutive birdies beginning at the first hole. His conversion from 11'5" would wind up as his longest of the day. He also poured in a par save from 10'3" at 15 before rolling in a birdie from 10'1" at 16.

Jim Furyk found himself once again inside the top 10 in the Tampa Bay Championship due in part to an even-par 35-36=71 in the final round.
Furyk plodded his way around the Copperhead Course with three birdies, three bogeys and 12 pars to finish the week at 5-under 279. A past champion in this event and a runner-up in a playoff in 2012, it should not have been a surprise to anyone that the veteran ended the week on the front page of the leaderboard. He now heads to Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Jim Furyk birdied the final hole of his third round at the Tampa Bay Championship to sign for a 4-under-par 34-33=67, reaching the 54-hole mark at 5-under 208.
He tapped in for birdie on the 18th hole after nearly running it into the cup from the fairway. Furyk has enjoyed his share of success at the Copperhead Course, losing in a playoff as recently as last year. In all, he circled six birdies and squared two bogeys, with those bogeys coming at the sixth and 16th holes. Those holes are playing as the two most difficult holes on the course this week, so he wasn't exactly giving up a ton of ground to the field. He will try and claim his 17th PGA TOUR win, and second at this venue, in Sunday's finale.

Jim Furyk coughed up a 1-over-par 36-36=72 to open the Tampa Bay Championship.
Furyk entered this week with 12 consecutive rounds under par on the par-71 Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort. After winning the tournament in 2010, he placed T13 in 2011 and lost in a playoff last year. He's also a big fan of the layout; he just execute like he liked it today. While he converted four birdies, including a beaut from 35 feet at the par-3 15th and a six-yarder from the fringe at 5, he also suffered three bogeys, one of which as a result of a three-putt from just inside 59 feet at the par-4 18th. Compounding matters, he double-bogeyed the par-4 16th where he rinsed his tee ball. The beauty of a tricky track like Copperhead is that Furyk is just four strokes back of the clubhouse co-leaders.

Jim Furyk had an easy time with Ryan Moore in the Jones Bracket of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, recording a 4-and-2 victory over his fellow American.
Furyk entered the week with a bit of a chip on his shoulder for failing to reach the second round in his last two trips to Dove Mountain. He played some spirited golf to achieve the first goal, completing 16 holes in 3-under-par and winning seven holes to Moore's three. After sitting all square through seven Furyk went birdie-par-birdie-birdie on holes 8-11, winning all of them. He'd trade two wins with Moore coming home but the damage was done. Furyk will face Bubba Watson in Friday's second round.

Jim Furyk turned in a 2-under-par 35-34=69 in the third round of the Northern Trust Open and enters the final round at 4-under 209.
Furyk made the most of the few easy holes Riviera CC offers. He started with a birdie on the short par-5 first and held steady until a bogey at the par-4 ninth. He then found an eagle on the par-4 10th when he drove the green and made a 17'8" eagle putt. He would add another birdie on the par-5 11th and give back one final stroke at the par-3 14th, failing to convert a sand save. After opening his season with a T30 at Pebble Beach last week, he looks to be trending upward ahead of the WGC-Accenture Match Play.

Furyk rolled in four birdies against just one bogey, but he went 6-for-6 in scrambling. His bogey occurred at the par-4 fifth hole where he three-putted from 62'7". His longest birdies measured 11'3" and 10'8" at Nos. 14 and 16, respectively.

Jim Furyk will start his 2013 campaign at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Furyk's spent enough time stewing over what could have been in 2012 and he's ready to jump back on the horse for more. It shouldn't be a surprise that he chose Pebble Beach, given he's made the cut in 14 (of 16) starts with seven top 25s and four top 10s. Ever the grinder, the small greens of the host course reward a guy that's able to scramble for par.
