| Assets: | Has plenty of power with the big stick and is blessed with a natural putting stroke. Plays high percentage golf and relies on a solid short iron game to score well. |
| Flaws: | Not a pure ball striker and has some accuracy issues from 175-plus yards with his irons. Short game is average as he loses too many shots around the greens. Not a solid finisher. |
| Career Potential: | Underrated contender and occasional tour winner. |

The horn blew just minutes after Jeff Overton signed for a 3-under-par 35-34=69, improving to 6-under 210. It was known at the beginning of the day that the threat of thunderstorms existed in and around the Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida area. It is unknown at this time how quickly play will resume, but when it does Henrik Stenson will try and increase his one-stroke advantage over Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia. |

Overton was in our crosshairs today because he announced that he couldn't play Quail Hollow due to a sore back. If he was feeling better, his scorecard didn't show it. He hit 12 greens but limited the par breakers to a 13'11" birdie at teh par-5 second hole and a nifty eagle to a tucked pin at the par-5 11th. He swallowed two bogeys, the first as a result of a whiffed par attempt from 52 inches at the par-3 third. His second bogey occurred at the par-4 fourth where he rinsed his approach. |

News
Inclement weather has suspended play at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at 10:23 a.m. CT with all players currently in the midst of their final rounds.

Impact
The group of Jeff Overton, Sean O'Hair and Aaron Watkins is the furthest into their round, having finished 14 holes after beginning on the 10th. The suspension of play is not a surprise given tee times were moved up due to the threat of severe weather in the New Orleans area. TPC Louisiana will likely spend the remainder of the day hoping to dodge storms in an effort to crown a winner at day's end. We will update the restart time when it becomes available. |

Impact
Overton's round opened horribly, as he was bitten by a double bogey at the opening hole despite finding the fairway with his drive. As it would turn out, that was his only blemish of the day. He added five birdies, with the first from 11'10" on the par-3 third. He then went back-to-back on five and six, and again on 14 and 15. His first PGA TOUR victory and a trip to Augusta National will have to wait for another day. |

He came within one stroke last week of ending his drought without a top 25 -- it stands at nine straight starts now -- but he's gone low in each of his last two opening rounds. After a 67 at Redstone last week, he recorded an eagle and five birdies at TPC San Antonio today. His eagle was a kick-in 2 from 23 inches at the 17th hole. Three of his birdies fell in from beyond 13 feet, the longest of which 21'3" at the first hole. Overall, he hit only 10 greens in regulation, which opened the door to four bogeys, but he's just two strokes off the overnight lead. |

Back in action after a back injury sidelined him after 32 holes in Puerto Rico last week, Overton hit 14 greens in regulation at Copperhead today but rolled in just two birdies, and one of those measured 15'2" at the par-4 seventh hole. He missed two attempts inside nine feet, including a par save from 6'1" at 9, his last of the round. Circling back to his injury, Overton posted the following on Twitter on Sunday: "Feeling a lot better after my WD from Puerto Rico, some strained ribs. I'll be back out there in no time! #BOOMBABY" So, whether it was a back or ribs that ultimately forced him to withdraw, we're still not convinced that he's feeling OK. He's gone six consecutive starts without a top 25. |

Overton's best week was his first, finishing tied for eighth at the Sony Open. Since then, each week has gotten progressively worse and culminated with a missed cut at Riviera. The reason for optimism this week lies in his course history at PGA National. He has finished inside the top 20 three times, with two top 10s. |

He saved his most notable conversion for last on the vulnerable par-5 ninth where his eagle attempt disappeared from 19'1". |
