Impact
With that effort, Points moves to 6-under 204 and is again finding success in the Lone Star State. He's already picked up a win in Houston earlier this season. In his third lap around TPC Four Seasons, he circled five birdies to just two bogeys and saved par from 20'9" on the 18th hole to sustain his solid round. |

News
D.A. Points turned in a 1-under-par 35-36=71 in the third round of the Wells Fargo Championship, improving to 5-under 211 for the tournament.

Impact
Points is once again threatening to snare a top 10, with a win at the Shell Houston Open and a runner-up at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in his last four starts making his inclusion on the leaderboard an increasing phenomenon. He did most of his damage on Quail Hollow's par 5s, with birdies on five, seven and 10. An early birdie at the par-3 second was the outlier. He also swallowed three bogeys. |

Points comes up short to Horschel at Zurich | 04/28/2013 6:51 PM
News
D.A. Points spun a bogey-free 7-under-par 34-31=65 in the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, but comes up one stroke shy of Billy Horschel at 19-under 269.

Impact
Points gave Horschel all he could handle, but the first-time winner was just too much. The winner of the Shell Houston Open earlier this season, Points got on the board with a 47'4" birdie on the par-4 fifth and never looked back. Reaching the final hole one back, he put his third shot from a greenside bunker to 4'9" while Horschel faced a 26'8" birdie to close him out. When Horschel made the unlikely birdie, Points calmly wrapped up second by rolling his in. He now heads to the Wells Fargo Championship where he lost in a playoff last year. |

Points enters Zurich finale tied for second | 04/27/2013 5:25 PM
News
D.A. Points carded a 2-under-par 35-35=70 in the third round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans to post 12-under 204.
Rotoworld.com
Impact
Points round was unremarkable, featuring three birdies to just one bogey. He got the bogey out of the way early, making a mess of a chip on the par-4 fourth. He converted birdies from 6'5", 11'8", and 12'8" on the seventh, ninth and 11th holes at TPC Louisiana. Having won earlier in the year at the Shell Houston Open, the pressure should be at a minimum in the final round allowing him a free roll at a third TOUR win. |

D.A. Points answered his opening 66 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with a bogey-free, 4-under-par 34-34=68.

Impact
Points go up and down all five times today to hit the halfway point in 10-under 134, two strokes off the 36-hole clubhouse lead. He rolled in four birdies today, including a gem from 25'10" at the fourth hole and a standard-issue par breaker from 12'9" at 8. Through 36 hole, he's hit just 24 greens but has limited the damage to one bogey against 11 birdies. |

Impact
Since winning in Houston, Points has gone 2-for-2 but hasn't returned to the top 35 and hasn't broken 71 in eight rounds. Perhaps the week off following the Masters provided a necessary break. He hit only 11 greens today but limited the damage to one bogey at the par-4 12th. Elsewhere, he picked off seven birdies, including a 17-yard hole-out at the sixth. His longest conventional birdies measured 13'7" at 13 and 15'3" at 18. |

News
D.A. Points signed for a 2-over-par 36-38=74 following his opening round of the Valero Texas Open.
Rotoworld.com
Impact
Points is a veteran, so while you can excuse him for failing to go lower, it's still a little surprising that he didn't play better overall. He landed just 10 greens in regulation and sat 1-under after 12 holes. The first two-thirds of his lap around San Antonio included a 17-foot par save at the first hole and a 10'3" conversion for birdie at 11. However, he squared four bogeys against one birdie (16-footer at 14) coming in to lose the grip. |

Points waits out weather; emerges in Houston | 03/31/2013 8:25 PM
News
D.A. Points closed the door on his second PGA TOUR victory when he signed for a bogey-free 6-under-par 33-33=66 in the final round of the Shell Houston Open.
PGATOUR.com
Impact
Points started hot, with birdies from 6'7" and 28'10" on the second and third holes, respectively. Starting on the eight hole, he rattled of four birdies in a six-hole span and held on for pars the rest of the way. It wasn't as easy as it sounded, as he needed a par putt to drop from 13'5" on Redstone's difficult 18th hole to finish at 16-under 64-71-71-66=272 and avoid a three-way playoff with Henrik Stenson and Billy Horschel. Points was also one of 12 that waited out a weather delay of two hours and 38 minutes. Much was made in the final round on the NBC/Golf Channel telecast of Points using his mother's putter this week, and that proved the crucial club. With this victory, he earns a spot into the Masters, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship. He is scheduled to move on to TPC San Antonio to compete in this week's Valero Texas Open. |

News
D.A. Points continues to hang around the Shell Houston Open leaderboard, settling for a 1-under-par 35-36=71 in the third round.

Impact
Points circled three birdies and squared two bogeys in his journey around Redstone GC, struggling with the putter from time to time. He missed four putts inside 10 feet on the back nine. Each of his three birdies were inside 10 feet. He tapped in from 1'6" on the fifth, 10 inches on the eighth and 9'3" on the 17th. The first-round leader finds himself just a stroke off the 54-hole lead at 10-under 206. |

Points goes bogey-free but loses lead at SHO | 03/29/2013 7:29 PM
News
Overnight leader D.A. Points backed up his opening 64 at the Shell Houston Open with a bogey-free, 1-under-par 36-35=71 to reach the midpoint in 9-under 135, one stroke back of the 36-hole clubhouse lead.
Rotoworld.com
Impact
Talk about a strange round of golf. Points hit 15 greens in regulation and went 16-for-17 in putting from inside 10 feet, but still lost his handle atop the leaderboard. His lone birdie was an eight-footer that dropped at the par-4 12th hole, but his longest conversion of the round measured 13'1" at 9. Simply put, he'll need to putt better on the weekend if he's going to give a run at his second PGA TOUR title. |

D.A. Points surprises; out front at the SHO | 03/28/2013 2:31 PM
News
D.A. Points blistered Redstone Country Club's Tournament Course with nine birdies en route to an 8-under-par 30-34=64 in his opening round of the Shell Houston Open, good for sole possession of the clubhouse lead.

Impact
Points is the latest poster boy for 'this came out of nowhere.' He arrived at Redstone 2-for-9 on the season with no top 60s and he hadn't broken 67 all year. He opened today's round at the 10th hole and promptly birdied his first five holes, a run that included conversions from 11'5" at 11 and 13'10" at 12. After a gem of a birdie from 54'9" at 17, he rolled in a par save from 11'7" at 18 to remain bogey-free. Another birdie disappeared from 35'6" at the third hole, but the highlight of the round was a 27-yard bunker hole-out at the par-3 seventh. Overall, he hit 14 greens and suffered just one bogey, that a 5 at the fifth hole where he had to take a drop for an unplayable lie after sending his drive well right of the fairway. |

Points not rebounding yet; heads to Tampa | 03/12/2013 9:29 PM
News
D.A. Points' struggles continued as the PGA TOUR left the West Coast for the Florida Swing, but he hopes to remedy that at the Tampa Bay Championship.
PGATOUR.com
Impact
Points made a caddy change at the end of the West Coast Swing with the hopes of resurrecting his game, but a T68 at The Honda Classic and a missed cut in Puerto Rico show that all of the kinks haven't been worked out just yet. He's made each of his three cuts at the Copperhead Course, with a couple of top 30s to show for it. |

News
D.A. Points returns to the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am with visions of his 2011 win dancing in his head.

Impact
Points was paired with Bill Murray for all four rounds and it worked wonders. Afterwards, he acknowledged that playing with Murray helped keep him calm down the stretch of his first win, so it's no surprise that the two are back together again. Points could use a pep talk from his old buddy this week, seeing that he's missed two (of three) cuts to start the year and didn't crack the top 60 in the other. |
