DRAFT 2014: CSB PRELIMINARY RANKINGS
Central Scouting Bureau released its first of three annual lists, as the countdown to the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has begun. Reinhart, Eklbad, et al, who's listed where.
Ben Bishop and the Tampa Bay Lightning lost to the Washington Capitals 5-4 via a shootout on Tuesday.
Bishop allowed five goals on 31 shots, with four of those tallies coming from Alex Ovechkin. It's honestly tough to blame him for many, if any, of the tallies he allowed Tuesday. Allowing more than a couple goals is pretty rare for Bishop this season. He's now 15-5-2.
After losing on Monday, Curtis McElhinney earned his third win of the 2013-14 season as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the New Jersey Devils 5-4 on Tuesday.
McElhinney stopped 30 out of 34 shots, which isn't the greatest numbers-wise, but the best sign is that he's getting back-to-back starts right out of the gate. It's becoming increasingly evident that McElhinney will carry the load in Columbus while Sergei Bobrovsky might miss about a month.
New Jersey Devils forward Damien Brunner broke a lengthy slump on Tuesday, but his team lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4.
Brunner scored two goals, his first tallies since Oct. 26. He failed to collect a point in 15 of his last 17 points after starting off the season with four goals and three assists in 11 games. Disappointing stuff from a guy who seemed like a free agent steal early on.
Martin Brodeur made 18 saves on 23 shots in the New Jersey Devils 5-4 loss to Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
That's a save percentage of .783 from the future Hall-of-Famer. Brodeur is now 8-8-2 on the season and only has one win in his last six starts. It's rare to see the Devils get this kind of goal support, making the loss burn that much more.
Awful news for the New York Rangers: Ryan Callahan has a Grade 2 MCL sprain that will sideline him for four-to-six weeks.

This is the last thing the Rangers needed after a dispiriting 4-1 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Callahan's had a rough season injury-wise, and this just makes matters worse. One wonders if this might have implications for the U.S. Olympic team, too.
