Brandon Inge delivers go-ahead hit in win | 05/01/2013 4:46 PM
NewsBrandon Inge went 2-for-4 with a go-ahead single in the top of the eighth as the Pirates beat the Brewers 6-4 on Wednesday.
ImpactThe single was a soft liner that eluded second baseman Rickie Weeks. Weeks actually kicked the ball all of the way into foul territory, allowing Inge to reach three base on the play. He then came around to score an insurance run on a rare Pedro Alvarez single. With Neil Walker hurting, Inge has started seven games since coming off the DL on April 23. He doesn't figure to have any long-term value in NL-only leagues, but he's been useful so far with his .321 average in 28 at-bats.

The 35-year-old is hitting .125 (4-for-32) with two homers and a double over his first 10 games. He was forced to start the season on the disabled list due to an incomplete fracture in his right scapula.
