NewsJose Calderon (triceps) will not play Monday against the Sixers.
Keith Langlois on Twitter
ImpactThere has been some talk about Calderon sitting out for the rest of the season and there's certainly a chance he'll sit out in Wednesday's finale. He's not worth owning in almost any league right now. Despite Rodney Stuckey struggling on Friday, he should be viewed as a strong start along with Brandon Knight.

NewsJose Calderon (triceps) will not play on Friday vs. Charlotte.
Keith Langlois on Twitter
ImpactCalderon will miss his third straight game. Brandon Knight will be counted out to play big minutes again, while Rodney Stuckey should get a sizable boost in minutes as well. Will Bynum, who is still working his way back from a hand injury, should also see a small boost off the bench.

NewsJose Calderon (arm) will not play on Wednesday against the Cavs.
Vince Ellis on Twitter
ImpactThe Pistons promised to exercise caution with Calderon, and that's exactly what they'll do. Without Calderon, Brandon Knight, Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum will pick up the slack, with Knight and Stuckey seeing the biggest increase in minutes.
Pistons promise to take it easy with Calderon | 04/07/2013 10:49 PM
NewsCoach Lawrence Frank promised to exercise caution with Jose Calderon's triceps strain.
ImpactCalderon has missed two of the Pistons' last four games. "What we're not going to do is yo-yo him back and forth," coach Lawrence Frank said. "We want to get it right before he comes back." That's an ominous quote ahead of Wednesday's game in Cleveland. The damage is on Calderon's shooting arm and the Pistons have just four games left in the season.
Jose Calderon out Sunday, Stuckey to start | 04/07/2013 6:14 PM
NewsJose Calderon (arm) will not play against the Bulls on Sunday and Rodney Stuckey will start.
Keith Langlois on Twitter
ImpactHe returned to the lineup on Saturday and played 27 minutes, but the back-to-back set might have been too much for him. He should be good to go for Wednesday's game in Cleveland, though. Rodney Stuckey is basically a must-start option even against Tom Thibodeau's stout defense.
Jose Calderon (elbow) scores six points | 04/06/2013 11:03 PM
NewsJose Calderon (elbow) returned on Saturday, scoring six points with two rebounds, four assists and three steals in 27 minutes.
ImpactCalderon's status has been a strange sub-plot in a week filled to the brim with injuries. In the end, it seems his "tendon" problem was actually a strained triceps, something he should be able to play through the rest of the way.
Calderon (upper arm) to be re-evaluated Thurs | 04/03/2013 10:59 PM
NewsUpdating a previous report, Jose Calderon missed Wednesday's game due to "upper arm irritation" and he will be re-evaluated on Thursday.
Vincent Goodwill on Twitter
ImpactHe struggled late in Sunday's game with what was called a "tendon" issue, shot the lights out on Monday, and was a very late scratch vs. the Celtics on Wednesday. Owners should sit tight and await updates -- if he misses any more games, Rodney Stuckey will get heavy minutes in the Pistons' starting lineup.
Jose Calderon (arm) will not play Wednesday | 04/03/2013 7:35 PM
NewsJose Calderon (sore right arm) will not play in Wednesday's game vs. the Celtics.
A. Sherrod Blakely on Twitter
ImpactGo figure. Calderon had a reported "tendon" issue toward the end of Sunday's game, but he played on Monday and dropped 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting. We're calling him day-to-day, though the lottery-bound Pistons don't have any incentive to hurry him back onto the court. Rodney Stuckey will start in his absence and is worth picking up while we await updates on Jose's condition.
Jose Calderon plays well in return to Toronto | 04/01/2013 9:28 PM
NewsJose Calderon torched his former team in his return to Toronto on Monday, shooting 8-of-12 from the field for 19 points with one board, nine assists, one steal, one 3-pointer and one turnover in 43 minutes.
ImpactThe Raptors put together a video tribute and fans gave him about a 30-second standing ovation. Calderon was one of the best guards to sport a Raptors uniform and he's the league leader in assists-to-turnover ratio this season. He had a minor arm injury entering the game, but there's nothing to worry about here. Keep him in your lineup.
Jose Calderon (arm) says that he's 'all good' | 04/01/2013 5:30 PM
NewsJose Calderon said that his arm injury from Sunday's game is "all good" and will not limit him this week.
Keith Langlois on Twitter
ImpactCalderon had a "tendon" issue and had difficulty shooting in the final minutes of Detroit's last game, but apparently it was a false alarm. Use him as you have been.
Jose Calderon dealing with an arm injury | 03/31/2013 11:54 PM
NewsCoach Lawrence Frank said Jose Calderon couldn't shoot during the final minutes of Sunday's loss because of a right arm injury.
Keith Langlois on Twitter
ImpactFrank obviously didn't consider the injury serious as Calderon never left the floor. But the term "tendon" is getting thrown around, so it's something worth watching. The Pistons play at Toronto at 7 p.m. ET on Monday.
Calderon scores 14, but with just one assist | 03/26/2013 10:52 PM
NewsJose Calderon played 32 minutes and hit 5-of-9 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points in Tuesday's ugly loss against the Wolves, but had just one assist.
ImpactHe was matched up against fellow countryman Ricky Rubio tonight, and Rubio clearly got the best of him with 14 points, nine assists, two steals and two 3-pointers on 6-of-9 shooting. Both players look like must-starts in fantasy the rest of the way, despite Calderon's lack of dimes tonight. He had 18 points, seven assists and three 3-pointers on Friday against the Heat.

NewsJose Calderon (illness) didn't return from his illness in Monday's game.

NewsJose Calderon left Monday's game during the first half due with "flu-like symptoms" and his return is questionable.

NewsJose Calderon handed out 16 assists against the Knicks on Wednesday to go with 10 points, three boards, two steals and one 3-pointer in 40 minutes.
ImpactIt's been feast of famine for Calderon in the assist category. In his previous seven games, he's had four games with five or less assists and three games with nine or more - including an 18-dime game on February 27. The former Raptor is locked in to 32 minutes per game with his new team and is a must-start option in standard leagues.

NewsLawrence Frank is away from the Pistons for personal reasons and won't coach Wednesday's game against the Knicks.

NewsJose Calderon matched his season high with 18 assists to go with six points, four boards, one steal and just two turnovers in 36 minutes against the Wizards on Wednesday.
ImpactHe leads the league in assist-to-turnover ratio and it's easy to see why when he puts up a 9.0 in a win. Calderon has been just fine with his new team and he should continue to be starting in all leagues.
Jose Calderon posts monster line in win | 02/14/2013 1:29 AM
NewsJose Calderon had 24 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block and six 3-pointers on 9-of-17 shooting in Wednesday's win.

| 02/10/2013 1:18 AM
NewsJose Calderon scored a team-high 23 points on Saturday, making 10-of-13 field goals (including three 3-pointers) with five rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals.
ImpactThe veteran PG looked much more comfortable in his fourth game with Detroit, which has won two straight. Calderon played over 35 minutes tonight, an unthinkable total alongside Kyle Lowry in Toronto, and his trade to Detroit is a blessing for fantasy owners.
Jose Calderon had 8 points, 9 assists in loss | 02/07/2013 1:36 AM
NewsJose Calderon had eight points, nine assists and two 3-pointers on 3-of-7 shooting in 31 minutes on Wednesday.

NewsJose Calderon scored 15 points in his Detroit debut on Monday and added one board, three assists and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes against the Knicks.
ImpactHe didn't turn the ball over and shot 7-of-12 from the field. Those are two areas in which the Pistons struggle, as they rank 21 in turnovers per game and 17th in field goal percentage. Calderon is on the upswing and Lawrence Frank will give him the vast majority of time at the point.
Jose Calderon will start at PG on Monday | 02/04/2013 7:40 PM
NewsJose Calderon (visa issues) will start at PG on Monday, as expected.
ImpactThis confirms earlier reports, and Calderon belongs in all fantasy lineups. He has a great chance to improve upon his averages with Toronto this season -- 11.1 points, 1.8 threes, 2.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 0.6 steals and only 1.7 turnovers in 28 minutes per game.

NewsJose Calderon (visa issues) will not make his Pistons debut on Sunday.

NewsUpdating a previous post, Jose Calderon will not make his Pistons debut on Friday due to visa issues.
David Mayo on Twitter
ImpactCalderon's Pistons debut will have to wait at least one more game. His absence should mean that Brandon Knight sees ample time at both guard positions, with Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum also seeing a boost in playing time in the backcourt as well.
Jose Calderon uncertain to play on Friday | 02/01/2013 11:31 AM
NewsIt is not currently known if Jose Calderon will make his Pistons debut on Friday, but the team will provide an update on Friday afternoon.
Pistons on Twitter
ImpactCalderon's playing status is up in the air. If he winds up sitting out, look for Brandon Knight, Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum to all see more minutes than usual. When Calderon does play, he's expected to start at point guard with Knight shifting to shooting guard.
Report: Pistons 'open' to re-signing Calderon | 02/01/2013 9:33 AM
NewsA Pistons source told the Detroit Free Press that the team is "open" to attempting to re-sign Jose Calderon at the end of the season.
Detroit Free Press
ImpactCalderon's Pistons debut is expected to come on Friday, where he'll serve as the starting point guard for his new team. Detroit reportedly believes that Calderon's playmaking "would be a major boon to rookie center Andre Drummond," and the Pistons will have a ton of cap space available in the offseason. "We've always had a high value on Jose," Lawrence Frank said. Brandon Knight is expected to become the Pistons starting two-guard.

NewsJose Calderon is expected to be available for Friday's game against the Cavs.
Keith Langlois on Twitter
ImpactCalderon was traded to the Pistons on Wednesday and will likely start at point guard with Brandon Knight shifting over to shooting guard. The Pistons finally have a true distributor in Calderon, who should continue to see around 25-30 minutes per game with his new team.
Calderon-Prince deal becomes official | 01/30/2013 10:28 PM
NewsGrizzlies trade Jose Calderon to Pistons for Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye.
ImpactThere was some reported interest in Calderon from the Pistons and they were reportedly close to striking a deal on NBA draft day this past offseason. He should be able to hold down the fort at point guard while Brandon Knight moves to shooting guard. Rodney Stuckey has been on the outs all year and he looks very expendable for the Pistons right now. The small forward spot looks to be a mess with Kyle Singler, Charlie Villanueva and Jonas Jerebko getting minutes.
Jose Calderon likely to start for Pistons | 01/30/2013 8:20 PM
NewsJose Calderon, once the trade is finalized, will likely start at point guard for the Pistons, while Brandon Knight could slide over to shooting guard, and Kyle Singler to small forward.
ImpactRodney Stuckey and Corey Maggette (when healthy) would come off the bench. Knight should hold some value if he starts at shooting guard, while it's no secret that Lawrence Frank loves Calderon and has long coveted him. If you own Calderon, just hold onto him for now.
Report: Calderon to Pistons; Prince to Griz | 01/30/2013 7:10 PM
NewsSources tell ESPN's Marc Stein that Jose Calderon will be sent to the Pistons as part of a three-team trade that will land Rudy Gay in Toronto and Tayshaun Prince in Memphis.
Marc Stein on Twitter
ImpactStein and the Memphis Commercial-Appeal report the Grizzlies will acquire Prince and swingman Austin Daye, while TNT's David Aldridge says it'll be a second-round pick and Prince heading to Memphis. As we said earlier, Calderon's value remains stagnant since he'll enter into another timeshare with current PG Brandon Knight, whose own value takes a big hit. Prince is an intriguing option in Memphis since he'll likely receive 30-plus minutes on a much better team. Daye, meanwhile, will help the Grizzlies fill out what was a very short-handed bench.
Report: Calderon unlikely to stay with Griz | 01/30/2013 6:43 PM
NewsSources tell ESPN's Marc Stein that Jose Calderon is unlikely to remain in Memphis as part of a four-player trade that will send Rudy Gay to Toronto.
Marc Stein on Twitter
ImpactStein reports the Pistons and Mavs are the two most likely landing spots for Calderon, with the Grizzlies looking to acquire Vince Carter, Tayshaun Price or Corey Maggette in the deal. Detroit and Dallas are both unappealing options to Calderon owners since the PG will still be stuck in a timeshare despite leaving Toronto. Also, depending on which team lands Calderon, either Brandon Knight or Darren Collison will see their fantasy value decrease, as well.
Report: Raptors are shopping Jose Calderon | 01/29/2013 3:19 PM
NewsSources tell Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Raptors are "struggling to find a landing spot" for Jose Calderon.
Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter
ImpactWojnarowski made the comment in reference to the ongoing trade talks between the Raptors and Grizzlies centered around Rudy Gay and Ed Davis. The two sides are looking for a third team to take on Calderon. Although a deal is certainly far from imminent, it confirms that Calderon -- not Kyle Lowry -- is the one more likely to be dealt before the Feb. 21 deadline. Despite his inconsistent minutes and nagging injuries, Lowry is a fantasy must-hold for the next month.
Calderon scores 11 points with seven assists | 01/29/2013 1:49 AM
NewsJose Calderon scored 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting (including three treys) with four rebounds and seven assists in Monday's loss to the Warriors.
ImpactWith Kyle Lowry (back) out, Calderon has the point guard slot all to himself and should be in all starting lineups while that is the case. Even when Lowry returns, it's possible that Calderon holds enough value to be owned, too.
Calderon scores 10 points with six assists | 01/24/2013 10:59 PM
NewsJose Calderon scored 10 points with one rebound, six assists, one 3-pointer and one turnover in Thursday's win over the Magic.
ImpactHe played 27 minutes and handled the point guard duties down the stretch. Calderon has played more minutes than Kyle Lowry in each of the last three games, averaging 16.3 points, 6.0 assists and 2.3 triples. He should be in most lineups, but things could go south pretty quickly with a highly-talented Lowry looking to get his chance.
Jose Calderon scores 17 points, hits five 3s | 01/24/2013 12:36 AM
NewsJose Calderon shot 6-of-9 from the field for 17 points with three assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in a loss to Miami on Wednesday.
ImpactHe set a season high with five 3-pointers and he didn't turn the ball over. Calderon is coming off a 22-point game against the Lakers on Sunday and he has done nothing to lose minutes to Kyle Lowry. Unfortunately, it's a bit out of his hands and Calderon owners shouldn't be expecting consistent production.
Jose Calderon scores 22 with nine assists | 01/20/2013 5:11 PM
NewsJose Calderon scored a team-high 22 points in a win over the Lakers on Sunday, adding nine assists and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.
ImpactIn his last two games, he logged just 41 minutes combined and he turned in one of better games with solid pick-and-roll defense on Steve Nash. Kyle Lowry also played well and these two will be going toe to toe for minutes at the point guard spot.
Jose Calderon barely plays in the second half | 01/18/2013 10:56 PM
NewsJose Calderon only played four minutes in the second half of Friday's game before returning in overtime, finishing with 13 points, four assists and three 3-pointers in 20 minutes.
ImpactThe tables have turned as Jose has taken a backseat to Kyle Lowry for most of the minutes at point guard in back-to-back games. Although, the move didn't pay off at all as the Raptors were absolutely destroyed in the second half by the score of 36-53. This is a fluid situation and owners shouldn't make any hasty decisions at this point.
Jose Calderon plays 21 minutes, Lowry hot | 01/16/2013 11:33 PM
NewsJose Calderon saw just 21 minutes for nine points, two rebounds and six assists in 21 minutes on Wednesday.
ImpactHe was dealing with a hip injury, but the problem for Calderon going forward is that Kyle Lowry is on fire and went off for 26 points in 34 minutes tonight, after taking over Tuesday's game in the fourth quarter. Calderon is still the starter for now, but it may not be long before Dwane Casey gives the job back to Lowry. Calderon's owners should probably plan accordingly, although nothing is set in stone as to the starting point guard for the Raptors.
Jose Calderon, Kyle Lowry will play Wednesday | 01/16/2013 6:59 PM
NewsJose Calderon (hip pointer) and Kyle Lowry (ankle) will both play Wednesday night against the Bulls.
Matt Devlin on Twitter
ImpactAlan Anderson (teeth) will also give it a go Wednesday. Dwane Casey hasn't said who will start at PG, but both Calderon and Lowry have been usable in almost all formats. Owners should feel free to use both tonight, although be aware they could be limited. Check back closer to tip-off to see if the Raptors give away who will start.
Jose Calderon to be reexamined Wednesday | 01/16/2013 9:19 AM
NewsJose Calderon (hip pointer) will be reexamined on Wednesday.
ImpactDwane Casey said that he was "worried" about both Calderon and Lowry's status going into Wednesday's game, but each will be looked at again prior to Wednesday's game against the Bulls. If both are forced to sit, look for John Lucas to draw the start at point guard.
Jose Calderon plays well, injures right hip | 01/15/2013 11:48 PM
NewsJose Calderon injured his right hip on Tuesday but played through it, finishing with 15 points, three rebounds, five assists and three 3-pointers on 6-of-11 shooting in a loss to the Nets.
Ryan Wolstat on Twitter
ImpactCalderon is a little iffy to play on Wednesday against the Bulls due to the injury, but it sounds like he plans on playing through it. Keep him in your lineup and watch for more information throughout the day on Wednesday. Kyle Lowry suffered a sprained left ankle and doesn't sound as likely to play, so Calderon will be a must-start if he is going to be in the lineup tomorrow.
Jose Calderon practices on Monday | 01/15/2013 10:19 AM
NewsJose Calderon (calf) went through practice on Monday.
ImpactCalderon's calf was bothering him after tweaking it during Sunday's game, and despite having a huge wrap on the area, it doesn't seem to be a very serious concern at all. He's expected to be available on Tuesday.
Calderon tweaks right calf, scores 21 points | 01/13/2013 5:24 PM
NewsJose Calderon scored 21 points in a loss to the Bucks on Sunday with eight assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.
ImpactHe tweaked his right calf in the first half and had a huge wrap on his leg as he sat on the bench. Calderon briefly went to the locker room before coming back out just moments later. Since he came back and looked pretty close to 100 percent, he should be fine. The Raptors take on the Nets on Tuesday and his owners will want to check back for updates to make sure the ailment doesn't linger.
Calderon briefly exits w/ minor foot injury | 01/13/2013 2:41 PM
NewsJose Calderon briefly left Sunday's game with an apparent right foot injury, but he has since returned.
ImpactHe pulled up awkwardly after a non-contact play, which is always scary, but he jogged into the locker room and quickly returned to the bench. We'll let you know if there's more to the story. He had 15 points and four assists in a dominant first quarter for Toronto.
Calderon goes for 15 points and six dimes | 01/11/2013 11:24 PM
NewsJose Calderon scored 15 points to go with six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in just 23 minutes in Friday's win over the Bobcats.
ImpactThe 23 minutes match his lowest total since Kyle Lowry returned to the lineup back on December 28. Obviously, Calderon has proven to be effective with that amount of playing time and tonight's line is the latest piece of evidence. He should be owned in all leagues.
Jose Calderon double-doubles in win | 01/09/2013 11:22 PM
NewsJose Calderon made another start at point guard and had 14 points, 11 assists and a steal on 7-of-12 shooting in 31 minutes.
ImpactHe didn't hit a 3-pointer, but owners have to be thrilled he's playing so well despite the fact that (an unhappy) Kyle Lowry is back in action. Keep running him out there, and enjoy it while it lasts.
Jose Calderon double-doubles on Sunday | 01/06/2013 5:25 PM
NewsJose Calderon had a double-double on Sunday with 10 points and 11 assists, adding two boards, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Thunder on Sunday.
ImpactHe's still been putting up nice stats with Kyle Lowry back in the lineup. In those five games, Calderon averaged 8.0 points, 8.6 assists and 1.2 triples. He's worth owning in all leagues as long as he's performing close to that level.
Calderon scores 13 points in Raptors loss | 01/05/2013 3:11 AM
NewsJose Calderon scored 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting (including three treys) with one rebound and three assists in 27 minutes on Friday against the Kings.
ImpactThe Raptors lost and Kyle Lowry scored 24 points with a full stat line, but this game was lost because the team had no answer for DeMarcus Cousins. Calderon also had to deal with the plus-defense of Isaiah Thomas, while Lowry had bottom barrel defender Aaron Brooks to abuse all night. All in all, we don't see the needle moving much after tonight, though eventually it wouldn't be surprising to see the two switch spots.
Calderon, Lowry total 22 assists, 0 points | 01/02/2013 10:51 PM
NewsJose Calderon missed his only shot attempt on Wednesday to finish with zero points and 13 assists in 23 minutes of an easy win over the Blazers.
ImpactKyle Lowry had an equally strange night, missing both of his shots for zero points and nine dimes. Calderon remains the starting point guard for now, and owners frustrated with Lowry should wait until he breaks out again before trying to deal him.
