J.J. Barea or Luke Ridnour will "likely" be traded by the night of the draft.
The Timberwolves have too many point guards on the roster, and although that was previously a staple of the team under David Kahn, he no longer works for Minnesota. Now under Flip Saunders, the team will look to have a better balance. Ridnour is only signed through the 2013/14 season, so he may be an easier sell to interested teams as an expiring deal.

Contrary to an earlier report, Flip Saunders and Nikola Pekovic did not wind up meeting in Europe.
Don't read too far into it. "It was just one of those things that didn't work out," Saunders said. The Timberwolves have made no secret that bringing back Pekovic is a priority, but it may be a situation where the team allows another interested suitor to set the market before matching an offer sheet. Saunders has met with Pekovic's agent, but Pekovic and Saunders aren't going to meet before July 1.

Alexey Shved will not play in summer league but he will play at Eurobasket for Russia.
Shved's production really dipped off toward the end of the season, but he's going to be an important piece in Minnesota's rotation. It's not clear if the team plans to use him at both point guard and shooting guard next season, but they'll expect him to take the next step in his sophomore season.
