Daniel Briere has reportedly been told by the Philadelphia Flyers that he will be bought out, according to team sources.
He will be given a compliance buyout 48 hours after the Stanley Cup Finals is over, which is when those transactions can start occurring. If the Washington Capitals can't retain the services of Mike Ribeiro, who might be heading for unrestricted free agency, then Briere could be an option there.

Anthony Brodeur, who is the oldest son of future Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur, will play for the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL next season.
He posted a 21-5-2 record with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage during his senior year at Shattuck-St. Mary's Prep. He is eligible for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Last summer, he projected as a fourth to a sixth round selection.

According to two NHL sources not associated with the Flyers, CSNPhilly.com is hearing that Anaheim is listening to offers for Bobby Ryan and Philadelphia is interested.
One source said that there's still "a lot to be worked out," but one scenario could see Braydon Coburn and the 11th overall pick in the 2013 draft going to Anaheim for Ryan. It's not uncommon for the Flyers to be mentioned in several trade rumors, but this off-season could be busy for them since they failed to make the playoffs and they have a difficult cap situation.

Marian Hossa was criticized by former Chicago Blackhawks star Tony Amonte Tuesday on WEEI-FM 93.7 in Boston.
"I think you play until you can't play anymore," said Amonte who used Nathan Horton, who is playing through a shoulder injury, as an example. Amonte said he heard that Hossa told the training staff he couldn't play after testing his upper-body injury during the warmup and it clearly irked him. "You just don't see guys do things like that in the NHL," he said. "It sounds like it came out of nowhere." Hossa is considered "likely" to play in Game 4 though, according to Hawks coach Joel Quenneville.
