Frank Vogel sat Hibbert on the last two possessions of the game and he's going to catch a lot of criticism for that call. Both times LeBron got an extremely easy bucket and Indiana's weak-side help was non-existent. Vogel said in the post-game conference that he put a switching lineup in, hoping to force a jump shot for LeBron. Hibbert only finished 10th in the Defensive Player of the Year voting, which looks like an injustice after tonight. Miami might be planning to attack Hibbert more in Game 2 on Friday to get him in foul trouble.

Roy Hibbert's training with mixed martial arts helped him to prepare for this season.
Hibbert became "stronger and more nimble with the help of the M.M. A. workouts and a nutritionist" during the offseason. "My touch came back," Hibbert said after his early-season struggles. "It helped me out playing defense." Hibbert is coming off of a monster double-double and is the key to the Pacers stalwart defense this year.

Hibbert thought the Pacers were "timid" in Game 2 and he set the tone tonight with confident, aggressive play at both ends of the court. He has learned to avoid silly foul trouble, his post game has vastly improved, and he's easily outplaying reigning DPOY Tyson Chandler in the second round, averaging 14.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in three games vs. the Knicks. Indiana will look to take a commanding lead with a Game 4 win on Tuesday.

Hibbert owned the paint on defense and the Knicks rarely got any easy buckets in halfcourt sets. Hibbert blocked just 1.5 shots in his four games against the Knicks this season, which is the second lowest average among Eastern Conference teams, so this was a surprising outburst. If Hibbert stays out of foul trouble, the Knicks will have a tough time getting uncontested short-range shots.

He made just three field goals on Saturday and was better on the offensive side of the ball tonight. Although, Hibbert did commit five fouls and the Hawks went right at the Pacers tonight. David West had an off night and might not be healthy, shooting 5-of-14 from the field for 15 points with six boards and two assists. The Pacers will travel back home for Game 5 on Wednesday.

Indiana was terrible in this game and they're now up just 2-1 in the series. They shot 27.2 percent from the field, made just four of their 25 3-point attempts, turned the ball over 22 times and had just 10 assists as a team tonight. Of the 13 players that took part in today's game, none of them shot over 50 percent from the field. Frank Vogel might want to burn this game tape after getting down 13 points at the end of the first and never finding their rhythm. The Pacers will look to rebound in Game 4 on Monday.

Roy Hibbert referred to a game in December where he had no points and one rebound as "probably the lowest I've ever been in my career."
Hibbert struggled mightily for most of the season after signing a max extension as a restricted free agent, but he turned it around after the All-Star break with averages of 15.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks on 50.8 percent shooting. By comparison, Hibbert averaged 10 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks on a lousy 41.4 percent shooting in the first half of the season. Hibbert also began seeing the Pacers team psychologist and acknowledged to previously internalizing things that bothered him, but he's got an improved outlook and confirmed his right hand/wrist injury that he dealt with earlier in the season is not an issue.

He shot 7-of-17 from the field and led the team in attempts today. Hibbert was creative with some spinning post moves and his offense in the second half of the season was terrific, shooting 50.8 percent in that span. On the other hand, Hibbert's defensive presence is what makes Indiana the heavy favorite against the Hawks in the first round.

We've spent a lot of time talking about how he's shooting 51 percent from the field after the break, but he made both of his free throws tonight and that's been a nice area of improvement for him, too. After shooting 69 percent from the line before the break, he's upped it to 79 percent after the break. Hibbert is a beast.

Roy Hibbert's 25 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one block weren't enough vs. the Wizards on Saturday, as Indiana's road record dropped to 19-20.
The good news is that Indiana has a sparkling 29-9 record at home, and as the third-seed in the East they'll have home court advantage for at least one round. They can also take comfort in Hibbert's recent surge -- the big man scored a season-best 16.5 points per game in March, and he's averaging a lofty 24.3 points in three April games.

Hibbert finished March with averages of 16.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks on 47.9 percent shooting in what was his best month of the season, and he's shown no signs of slowing down. "They needed a post presence," he said. David West's injury gave Hibbert some more breathing space beneath the cup, and it's led to a surge in his confidence. "His whole demeanor has changed," teammate Paul George said. Hibbert also added that the wrist issue he had earlier this season is "healed up."

He's come a long way from his horrific start to the season. Hibbert shot 39 percent in the 2012 portion of this season, but he upped it to 48 percent in March. What's more, he also shot 79 percent from the line while blocking 2.8 shots per game in March. He's a must-start player and is starting to live up to his huge contract.

Roy Hibbert shot 5-of-10 from the field for 16 points with 11 boards, one assist, one steal and one block in 24 minutes on Thursday.
He played 37 minutes in back-to-back games, but foul trouble kept him minutes in check tonight. Hibbert is coming on strong in the second half and he should be starting in all formats.

Roy Hibbert was dominant against the Rockets on Wednesday with 28 points, 13 boards, three assists and three blocks on 11-of-17 shooting 37 minutes.
It was his second game in a row with 37 minutes, which is fairly high since he's averaging just 28.6 per game on the season. In face, he hadn't played 37 minutes in any game that ended in regulation all year. Hibbert was on the short list of flops earlier this year, but he's done a terrific job turning it around.

Roy Hibbert had 11 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks in Friday's win over the Bucks.
Hibbert did the damage on just seven shots in 26 minutes as the Pacers were up by 19 points after three quarters. It's the fourth time this month he's had five or more blocks and the second-most he's had all season -- behind only the 11-swat outburst way back on Nov. 21. Hibbert is third in the league in blocks per game at 2.73, behind only Larry Sanders and Serge Ibaka.

We're not going to read too much into this one, as the Magic were dreadful all night, but Hibbert has taken a total of 18 shots in his two games since jacking up 26 attempts on Saturday. Look for him to bounce back on Friday against the Bucks.

He was off to a fast start at shooting the ball since the All-Star break, but in his last three games, Hibbert shot just 33.3 percent. On the other hand, he has been racking up the blocks and rebounds, so keep him active in all lineups.

Roy Hibbert blew away his career high with 26 shot attempts on Saturday, finishing a loss to Philly with 25 points (9-of-26 shooting), seven rebounds and one block.
Hibbert started the season slow but he's bounced back nicely in the past two months, averaging 12.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 2.7 blocks. He's even hitting 82.6 percent of his free throws during that span (7-of-8 on Saturday), a terrific development for the career 72.6 percent FT shooter.

Frank Vogel acknowledged that Roy Hibbert is playing improved basketball from earlier in the season.
Hibbert is averaging 16.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 blocks on 56.6 percent shooting in March, and he's enjoying the best stretch of his season. "You can see in his body language that's he playing with more confidence," Vogel said. "We've said all along it's going to be a process. He's playing well, not just tonight, but over the last few weeks."

Roy Hibbert took advantage of the absence of Nikola Pekovic Wednesday and dominated the Timberwolves for a season-high 27 points to go along with 12 rebounds and four blocks on 10-of-15 shooting. He also hit 7-of-8 free throws in the win.
This was just Hibbert's third 20-point game of the season and he had exactly 20 in the other two. He's actually playing very well in March and came in averaging 14.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in his five games this month. And those numbers are going up substantially after this one.

He's been back to his efficient ways on offense and hasn't shot below 46 percent in any of his five games since his suspension. Hibbert and the Pacers didn't have their first block until late in the fourth quarter, but Roy is moving back to must-start status.

He's come out hot since the All-Star break, making 55 percent of his attempts from the field for an average of 13 points per game with 3.3 blocks. Hibbert shot a paltry 41.3 percent from the field prior to that point, but he looks to have figured it out. He should be in all lineups.

Roy Hibbert hit 6-of-13 shots and had 12 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks in 32 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.
There's no reason Hibbert can't do this every night, but unfortunately, games like this are far too uncommon for the big man. However, he is shooting it better and has been more consistent over his past seven games, so it's possible he's going to finish the season on a tear.

Over his last six games, Roy Hibbert is averaging 14.5 points on 57 percent shooting, and the big man admitted his right wrist is feeling a lot better than it did earlier in the season when he had an issue with it.
Normally we wouldn't blurb something like this, but it's noteworthy for a guy who got a max contract in the offseason and is averaging just 10.3 points on 42.6 percent shooting this season. Owners who have held onto Hibbert this long should continue to hold and hope that Hibbert has finally figured it out. "He's returning to Roy Hibbert," Frank Vogel said. "Definitely happy with how he's playing right now." Hibbert said that he's "getting to where I should have been at the beginning of the year."

Don't look now, but Hibbert has shot at least 50 percent in every game for the past seven outings. He has been able to raise his season field goal percentage to 42.6 percent and his owners have to be enjoying his improved offensive output.

Roy Hibbert returned from his one-game suspension and helped the Pacers get a road win on Friday with 18 points, three boards and two blocks on 7-of-10 shooting.
The Pacers really missed Hibbert on Thursday and took a rare home loss to the Clippers. On a side note, Hibbert paid Lance Stephenson's $35,000 fine for having his back in the incident against Golden State on Tuesday. He shot just 43.6 percent in February and the terrible shooting has been a thorn in the side of owners all year.

The NBA has suspended Roy Hibbert for one game for his role in a fight during Tuesday's Pacers-Warriors game.
Hibbert and Warriors forward David Lee got into a shoving match and Hibbert was eventually ejected after taking down Lee's teammate Stephen Curry. Lee was also handed a one-game suspension, although his agent says he plans to appeal the ban. Curry, Klay Thompson and Lance Stephenson were fined $35,000 each for their role in the scrap. Hibbert, who said Tuesday he expected a suspension, will sit out Thursday's game against the Clippers.

Foul trouble got the best of Roy Hibbert in Saturday's win over the Pistons, which he finished with 10 points, one rebound, two blocks and five turnovers in 20 minutes.
Hibbert has been lousy in his past five games, averaging (including tonight's dud) 10.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and a value-saving 2.1 blocks in just 23 minutes. He'll face the Warriors' weakened frontcourt on Tuesday, which is at least a temporary cure for what ails him.

Roy Hibbert spent "significant time" at Georgetown during the All-Star break to work on his offense.
Hibbert is averaging just 9.9 points on 41.7 percent shooting this season. The scoring is his lowest output since his rookie season, and his efficiency from the field is the worst it's been in his early career. Hibbert said that his struggles are "purely mental," and that's concerning as that's the type of thing that can linger. Hibbert is averaging 8.2 rebounds and a career-high 2.6 blocks, so he's still providing value through his season-long offensive slide.

The Pacers crushed the Knicks on Wednesday, but did it without Roy Hibbert, who was dominated by Tyson Chandler and fouled out in just 18 minutes to finish with eight points, four rebounds and two blocks.
Yuck. Chandler finished with 19 points, 11 boards, a steal and block on the night, but the Knicks were never in the game. Hibbert hasn't had a great season, mainly dealing with shooting woes, but will bounce back from tonight's nightmare.

Hibbert hit just 8-of-20 shots, but it's hard to be mad at him after this line. It's also too bad he can't square off against Spencer Hawes and Kwame Brown every night.

All eight of his misses came from within the paint and seven of them were from within four feet. Hibbert inexplicably is shooting 41 percent from the field this season. On the bright side, he ranks fourth in the lineup. Owners have to be frustrated, but he belongs in most fantasy lineups even with his struggles on offense.

If he would just start doing this every night, we'd never have to tell owners to be patient with him again. But his shot is starting to fall more consistently and there's no reason to think he won't be better in the second half of the season.

It looked like he was finally over his shooting woes due to not shooting below 40 percent in any of his previous eight games. Hopefully, Hibbert can shake this one off in Wednesday's matchup against Andre Drummond, Greg Monroe and the Pistons on Wednesday.

Hibbert is shooting 53 percent from the floor over his last five games, averaging 11.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.2 blocks during that stretch, and is also shooting 47 percent in the month of January. His dreadful shooting woes appear to finally be a thing of the past.

The Pacers are a half-game behind Miami for the best home record in the East, at 16-3, but this loss dropped them to just 10-14 on the road. Better play from their supposed franchise center would go a long way toward stabilizing their record, but Hibbert has exactly one double-double in the past 20 games.

He hit just 5-of-11 shots, which is actually an improvement, and even knocked down all eight of his free throws, and this marked his first time to hit double digits in scoring in his last five games. We'd like to think this is a sign he's ready to break out, but it's important to note that he was playing against the hapless Bobcats, while he's only hit double digits in more than two straight games one time this season, which was in early December.

Hibbert sprained his back while blocking a shot last Thursday, but he played in consecutive games this weekend and should be ready to go for the Pacers' upcoming three-game week. His totals tonight are somewhat disappointing, outside of the blocks, but he was also navigating foul trouble for most of the game.

Roy Hibbert's recent back injury was described as "more of a sprain than a spasm," but there's no indication that it was the cause of his fourth-quarter benching on Saturday.
Hibbert isn't listed on the Pacers' injury report for Sunday and presumably he'll be in the starting lineup, but we should have confirmation closer to tip-off.

Mahinmi would be the better speculative add in very deep leagues, but his 8.2 fouls per 48 minutes in his career could limit him.

Hibbert's teammates should get significant credit for the OREB total, since their lousy shooting made his career night possible. This was his first double-double since Dec. 14 and we're not ready to proclaim that he's "back," but he played with an aggression that we haven't seen in quite a while. Now he needs to do it again vs. the Heat on Tuesday.

Coach Frank Vogel remains committed to a heavy role for Roy Hibbert despite the center's offensive struggles.
Hibbert is shooting a ghastly 39.5 percent from the field and 64.3 percent from the line. But he's still seeing 28.6 minutes per night thanks to his defensive prowess. "He's working through it," Vogel said. "He's a big reason why game in and game out, typically we're seeing under 40 percent field goal percentage from our opponents." Hibbert came into this season shooting 48.0 percent for his career. There's some buy-low appeal.
