|Assets:||Highly well-rounded for a center: strong as a shot-blocker and rebounder, yet also has some nice short-range offensive moves (including one of the NBA's better hook shots). Simply massive, with a great wingspan. Has a solid stroke, good court awareness, and some passing ability.|
|Flaws:||Foul-prone, due to only average burst & leaping ability. Despite hard work to increase his mobility he's more quick than fast. Best suited to a half-court focus.|

Roy Hibbert sits out at the end of overtime | 05/23/2013 12:26 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert scored 19 points with nine boards, one assist and two blocks on 9-of-18 shooting in 41 minutes on Wednesday.
Scott Agness on Twitter
ImpactFrank Vogel sat Hibbert on the last two possessions of the game and he's going to catch a lot of criticism for that call. Both times LeBron got an extremely easy bucket and Indiana's weak-side help was non-existent. Vogel said in the post-game conference that he put a switching lineup in, hoping to force a jump shot for LeBron. Hibbert only finished 10th in the Defensive Player of the Year voting, which looks like an injustice after tonight. Miami might be planning to attack Hibbert more in Game 2 on Friday to get him in foul trouble.
Roy Hibbert's mixed martial arts helping him | 05/14/2013 9:35 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert's training with mixed martial arts helped him to prepare for this season.
New York Times
ImpactHibbert became "stronger and more nimble with the help of the M.M. A. workouts and a nutritionist" during the offseason. "My touch came back," Hibbert said after his early-season struggles. "It helped me out playing defense." Hibbert is coming off of a monster double-double and is the key to the Pacers stalwart defense this year.
Roy Hibbert has 24 & 12 in Indy's Game 3 win | 05/11/2013 11:22 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert dominated Game 3 with a playoff career-high 24 points and 12 boards, including eight offensive, as the Pacers took a 2-1 series lead vs. the Knicks.
ImpactHibbert thought the Pacers were "timid" in Game 2 and he set the tone tonight with confident, aggressive play at both ends of the court. He has learned to avoid silly foul trouble, his post game has vastly improved, and he's easily outplaying reigning DPOY Tyson Chandler in the second round, averaging 14.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in three games vs. the Knicks. Indiana will look to take a commanding lead with a Game 4 win on Tuesday.
Roy Hibbert blocks five shots on Sunday | 05/05/2013 6:59 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert blocked six shots in a Game 1's 102-95 win over the Knicks, while adding 14 points, five boards and four assists on 6-of-9 shooting.
ImpactHibbert owned the paint on defense and the Knicks rarely got any easy buckets in halfcourt sets. Hibbert blocked just 1.5 shots in his four games against the Knicks this season, which is the second lowest average among Eastern Conference teams, so this was a surprising outburst. If Hibbert stays out of foul trouble, the Knicks will have a tough time getting uncontested short-range shots.
Roy Hibbert scores 14 on 11 shots in loss | 04/29/2013 10:38 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert shot 6-of-11 from the field for 14 points with seven boards, two assists and two blocks in 31 minutes during Game 4's 102-91 loss in Atlanta.
ImpactHe made just three field goals on Saturday and was better on the offensive side of the ball tonight. Although, Hibbert did commit five fouls and the Hawks went right at the Pacers tonight. David West had an off night and might not be healthy, shooting 5-of-14 from the field for 15 points with six boards and two assists. The Pacers will travel back home for Game 5 on Wednesday.
Hibbert goes scoreless in first half in loss | 04/27/2013 10:00 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert failed to score in the first half of Saturday's ugly 90-69 loss to the Hawks, finishing with eight points, nine boards and two blocks in 24 minutes.
ImpactIndiana was terrible in this game and they're now up just 2-1 in the series. They shot 27.2 percent from the field, made just four of their 25 3-point attempts, turned the ball over 22 times and had just 10 assists as a team tonight. Of the 13 players that took part in today's game, none of them shot over 50 percent from the field. Frank Vogel might want to burn this game tape after getting down 13 points at the end of the first and never finding their rhythm. The Pacers will look to rebound in Game 4 on Monday.
Hibbert calls December low point of career | 04/26/2013 12:40 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert referred to a game in December where he had no points and one rebound as "probably the lowest I've ever been in my career."
ImpactHibbert struggled mightily for most of the season after signing a max extension as a restricted free agent, but he turned it around after the All-Star break with averages of 15.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks on 50.8 percent shooting. By comparison, Hibbert averaged 10 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks on a lousy 41.4 percent shooting in the first half of the season. Hibbert also began seeing the Pacers team psychologist and acknowledged to previously internalizing things that bothered him, but he's got an improved outlook and confirmed his right hand/wrist injury that he dealt with earlier in the season is not an issue.
Roy Hibbert scores 16 points in win | 04/21/2013 4:12 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert scored 16 points in Sunday's easy 107-90 Game 1 win over the Hawks, while adding eight boards, one steal and two blocks in 33 minutes.
ImpactHe shot 7-of-17 from the field and led the team in attempts today. Hibbert was creative with some spinning post moves and his offense in the second half of the season was terrific, shooting 50.8 percent in that span. On the other hand, Hibbert's defensive presence is what makes Indiana the heavy favorite against the Hawks in the first round.
Roy Hibbert will not play on Wednesday night | 04/17/2013 12:49 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert (rest) will not play on Wednesday against Philadelphia.
Scott Agness on Twitter
ImpactHibbert was likely to take a seat on Wednesday and that's exactly what he'll wind up doing. Ian Mahinmi will start in his place and play major minutes.
Roy Hibbert could be rested Tues. and/or Wed. | 04/15/2013 1:58 AM
NewsThe Pacers may rest Roy Hibbert during their final games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
ImpactIndiana is locked into the No. 3 seed and Frank Vogel made no secret about the need to rest his key players, which suggests that Hibbert is about to get a DNP. Even if he's active Hibbert won't play many minutes, and we're likely to see a lot of Jeff Pendergraph and Tyler Hansbrough.
Roy Hibbert double-doubles Friday | 04/12/2013 10:20 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert double-doubled during Friday's 117-109 loss to Brooklyn on Friday with 18 points and 10 boards to go with his two blocks in 32 minutes.
ImpactWe've spent a lot of time talking about how he's shooting 51 percent from the field after the break, but he made both of his free throws tonight and that's been a nice area of improvement for him, too. After shooting 69 percent from the line before the break, he's upped it to 79 percent after the break. Hibbert is a beast.
Roy Hibbert has 25 & 10 as Indy falls on road | 04/06/2013 9:47 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert's 25 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one block weren't enough vs. the Wizards on Saturday, as Indiana's road record dropped to 19-20.
ImpactThe good news is that Indiana has a sparkling 29-9 record at home, and as the third-seed in the East they'll have home court advantage for at least one round. They can also take comfort in Hibbert's recent surge -- the big man scored a season-best 16.5 points per game in March, and he's averaging a lofty 24.3 points in three April games.
Roy Hibbert credits surge to more aggression | 04/04/2013 8:57 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert credited his recent offensive surge to being "more aggressive."
ImpactHibbert finished March with averages of 16.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks on 47.9 percent shooting in what was his best month of the season, and he's shown no signs of slowing down. "They needed a post presence," he said. David West's injury gave Hibbert some more breathing space beneath the cup, and it's led to a surge in his confidence. "His whole demeanor has changed," teammate Paul George said. Hibbert also added that the wrist issue he had earlier this season is "healed up."
Roy Hibbert scores 26 points with 10 boards | 04/02/2013 1:09 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert was terrific before fouling out of Monday's game with 26 points, 10 boards, two assists, one steal and one block on 11-of-14 shooting vs. the Clippers.
ImpactHe's come a long way from his horrific start to the season. Hibbert shot 39 percent in the 2012 portion of this season, but he upped it to 48 percent in March. What's more, he also shot 79 percent from the line while blocking 2.8 shots per game in March. He's a must-start player and is starting to live up to his huge contract.
Roy Hibbert scores 16 points vs. Dallas | 03/28/2013 11:22 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert shot 5-of-10 from the field for 16 points with 11 boards, one assist, one steal and one block in 24 minutes on Thursday.
ImpactHe played 37 minutes in back-to-back games, but foul trouble kept him minutes in check tonight. Hibbert is coming on strong in the second half and he should be starting in all formats.
Hibbert scores 28 points vs. Chicago | 03/28/2013 1:42 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert was dominant against the Rockets on Wednesday with 28 points, 13 boards, three assists and three blocks on 11-of-17 shooting 37 minutes.
ImpactIt was his second game in a row with 37 minutes, which is fairly high since he's averaging just 28.6 per game on the season. In face, he hadn't played 37 minutes in any game that ended in regulation all year. Hibbert was on the short list of flops earlier this year, but he's done a terrific job turning it around.
Roy Hibbert blocks seven shots in easy win | 03/22/2013 10:16 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert had 11 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks in Friday's win over the Bucks.
ImpactHibbert did the damage on just seven shots in 26 minutes as the Pacers were up by 19 points after three quarters. It's the fourth time this month he's had five or more blocks and the second-most he's had all season -- behind only the 11-swat outburst way back on Nov. 21. Hibbert is third in the league in blocks per game at 2.73, behind only Larry Sanders and Serge Ibaka.
Roy Hibbert quiet in blowout win over Magic | 03/19/2013 9:35 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert had four fouls in just 24 minutes to finish with nine points, five rebounds and one block in Tuesday's easy blowout win over Orlando.
ImpactWe're not going to read too much into this one, as the Magic were dreadful all night, but Hibbert has taken a total of 18 shots in his two games since jacking up 26 attempts on Saturday. Look for him to bounce back on Friday against the Bucks.
Roy Hibbert blocks five shots on Monday | 03/18/2013 11:15 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert shot 4-of-10 from the field for 12 points with nine boards, one steal and five blocks in 28 minutes against the Cavs on Monday.
ImpactHe was off to a fast start at shooting the ball since the All-Star break, but in his last three games, Hibbert shot just 33.3 percent. On the other hand, he has been racking up the blocks and rebounds, so keep him active in all lineups.
Roy Hibbert launches career-high 26 attempts | 03/16/2013 10:24 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert blew away his career high with 26 shot attempts on Saturday, finishing a loss to Philly with 25 points (9-of-26 shooting), seven rebounds and one block.
ImpactHibbert started the season slow but he's bounced back nicely in the past two months, averaging 12.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 2.7 blocks. He's even hitting 82.6 percent of his free throws during that span (7-of-8 on Saturday), a terrific development for the career 72.6 percent FT shooter.
Roy Hibbert gaining steam, Vogel likes play | 03/14/2013 10:34 AM
NewsFrank Vogel acknowledged that Roy Hibbert is playing improved basketball from earlier in the season.
ImpactHibbert is averaging 16.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 blocks on 56.6 percent shooting in March, and he's enjoying the best stretch of his season. "You can see in his body language that's he playing with more confidence," Vogel said. "We've said all along it's going to be a process. He's playing well, not just tonight, but over the last few weeks."
Roy Hibbert dominant vs. MIN with 27 & 12 | 03/13/2013 11:04 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert took advantage of the absence of Nikola Pekovic Wednesday and dominated the Timberwolves for a season-high 27 points to go along with 12 rebounds and four blocks on 10-of-15 shooting. He also hit 7-of-8 free throws in the win.
ImpactThis was just Hibbert's third 20-point game of the season and he had exactly 20 in the other two. He's actually playing very well in March and came in averaging 14.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in his five games this month. And those numbers are going up substantially after this one.
Roy Hibbert has a solid offensive game | 03/10/2013 9:36 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert shot 7-of-14 from the field against the Heat on Sunday for 16 points with four boards, two assists and three turnovers in 32 minutes.
ImpactHe's been back to his efficient ways on offense and hasn't shot below 46 percent in any of his five games since his suspension. Hibbert and the Pacers didn't have their first block until late in the fourth quarter, but Roy is moving back to must-start status.
Roy Hibbert blocks five shots on Friday | 03/08/2013 9:55 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert shot 3-of-5 from the field for 10 points with two boards, one assist, one steal and five blocks in 27 minutes against the Magic on Friday.
ImpactHe's come out hot since the All-Star break, making 55 percent of his attempts from the field for an average of 13 points per game with 3.3 blocks. Hibbert shot a paltry 41.3 percent from the field prior to that point, but he looks to have figured it out. He should be in all lineups.
Roy Hibbert has nice game in loss to Celtics | 03/06/2013 10:33 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert hit 6-of-13 shots and had 12 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks in 32 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.
ImpactThere's no reason Hibbert can't do this every night, but unfortunately, games like this are far too uncommon for the big man. However, he is shooting it better and has been more consistent over his past seven games, so it's possible he's going to finish the season on a tear.
Roy Hibbert turning the corner on offense? | 03/05/2013 9:29 AM
NewsOver his last six games, Roy Hibbert is averaging 14.5 points on 57 percent shooting, and the big man admitted his right wrist is feeling a lot better than it did earlier in the season when he had an issue with it.
ImpactNormally we wouldn't blurb something like this, but it's noteworthy for a guy who got a max contract in the offseason and is averaging just 10.3 points on 42.6 percent shooting this season. Owners who have held onto Hibbert this long should continue to hold and hope that Hibbert has finally figured it out. "He's returning to Roy Hibbert," Frank Vogel said. "Definitely happy with how he's playing right now." Hibbert said that he's "getting to where I should have been at the beginning of the year."
Roy Hibbert actually shoots the ball well | 03/04/2013 12:06 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert double-doubled with 18 points and 10 boards with one assist, two steals and three blocks on 7-of-14 from the field in 35 minutes against the Bulls on Sunday.
ImpactDon't look now, but Hibbert has shot at least 50 percent in every game for the past seven outings. He has been able to raise his season field goal percentage to 42.6 percent and his owners have to be enjoying his improved offensive output.
Roy Hibbert returns from suspension Friday | 03/02/2013 12:14 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert returned from his one-game suspension and helped the Pacers get a road win on Friday with 18 points, three boards and two blocks on 7-of-10 shooting.
ImpactThe Pacers really missed Hibbert on Thursday and took a rare home loss to the Clippers. On a side note, Hibbert paid Lance Stephenson's $35,000 fine for having his back in the incident against Golden State on Tuesday. He shot just 43.6 percent in February and the terrible shooting has been a thorn in the side of owners all year.
Roy Hibbert banned one game for role in fight | 02/27/2013 5:59 PM
NewsThe NBA has suspended Roy Hibbert for one game for his role in a fight during Tuesday's Pacers-Warriors game.
Sam Amick on Twitter
ImpactHibbert and Warriors forward David Lee got into a shoving match and Hibbert was eventually ejected after taking down Lee's teammate Stephen Curry. Lee was also handed a one-game suspension, although his agent says he plans to appeal the ban. Curry, Klay Thompson and Lance Stephenson were fined $35,000 each for their role in the scrap. Hibbert, who said Tuesday he expected a suspension, will sit out Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Roy Hibbert apologizes, spoke to NBA already | 02/27/2013 3:27 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert apologized for getting into a fight during Tuesday night's game and said he told the NBA his side of the story Wednesday morning.
Scott Agness on Twitter
ImpactHibbert received two technical fouls and was ejected after getting into a shoving match with Golden State's David Lee and eventually tossing Stephen Curry to the ground. Hibbert said Wednesday that his mom told him he should have walked away from the incident. The Pacers' big man didn't throw punches but acknowledged after the game that he'll probably earn a suspension for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Roy Hibbert ejected for fight vs. GSW Tuesday | 02/26/2013 10:22 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert received two technical fouls for a fight with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday and was ejected.
ImpactHe got into a shoving match with David Lee under the basket, then he took Stephen Curry to the ground. Hibbert didn't throw any punches and while he will likely receive a fine, there's a good chance he won't be suspended for his actions. He finished with 13 points, nine boards, one steal and five blocks in a win and we're expecting him to suit up against the Clippers on Thursday.
Roy Hibbert fouls out in just 20 minutes | 02/24/2013 12:12 AM
NewsFoul trouble got the best of Roy Hibbert in Saturday's win over the Pistons, which he finished with 10 points, one rebound, two blocks and five turnovers in 20 minutes.
ImpactHibbert has been lousy in his past five games, averaging (including tonight's dud) 10.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and a value-saving 2.1 blocks in just 23 minutes. He'll face the Warriors' weakened frontcourt on Tuesday, which is at least a temporary cure for what ails him.
Roy Hibbert working to ramp up his offense | 02/22/2013 8:51 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert spent "significant time" at Georgetown during the All-Star break to work on his offense.
ImpactHibbert is averaging just 9.9 points on 41.7 percent shooting this season. The scoring is his lowest output since his rookie season, and his efficiency from the field is the worst it's been in his early career. Hibbert said that his struggles are "purely mental," and that's concerning as that's the type of thing that can linger. Hibbert is averaging 8.2 rebounds and a career-high 2.6 blocks, so he's still providing value through his season-long offensive slide.
Roy Hibbert fouls out in just 18 minutes | 02/20/2013 11:32 PM
NewsThe Pacers crushed the Knicks on Wednesday, but did it without Roy Hibbert, who was dominated by Tyson Chandler and fouled out in just 18 minutes to finish with eight points, four rebounds and two blocks.
ImpactYuck. Chandler finished with 19 points, 11 boards, a steal and block on the night, but the Knicks were never in the game. Hibbert hasn't had a great season, mainly dealing with shooting woes, but will bounce back from tonight's nightmare.
Roy Hibbert plays 18 minutes in foul trouble | 02/13/2013 11:42 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert had 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks on Wednesday, but played just 18 minutes after picking up five fouls.
ImpactHe hit 5-of-9 shots, which was a nice change, but the foul trouble was a buzzkill tonight.
Hibbert has another off shooting game | 02/09/2013 12:57 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert shot 3-of-9 from the field for six points with three rebounds, four assists and five blocks in Friday's 100-98 overtime loss to the Raptors.
ImpactHe's now shooting just 41.5 percent from the field, which is by far a career low. From the fun-with-numbers department, Hibbert would have to make his next 61 shots to match his career average of 47.1 percent from the field. He still belongs in all lineups for his shot-blocking prowess.
Hibbert for for 18 & 14 in another win | 02/07/2013 12:20 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert had 18 points, 14 rebounds, two steals and five more blocks in Wednesday's win at Philly, the Pacers' third straight win in three nights.
ImpactHibbert hit just 8-of-20 shots, but it's hard to be mad at him after this line. It's also too bad he can't square off against Spencer Hawes and Kwame Brown every night.
Roy Hibbert still can't hit shots on Monday | 02/04/2013 11:45 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert shot 3-of-11 from the field for six points with nine boards, one assist and one block in 30 minutes against the Bulls.
ImpactAll eight of his misses came from within the paint and seven of them were from within four feet. Hibbert inexplicably is shooting 41 percent from the field this season. On the bright side, he ranks fourth in the lineup. Owners have to be frustrated, but he belongs in most fantasy lineups even with his struggles on offense.
Roy Hibbert puts up solid line in easy win | 01/31/2013 12:04 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert hit 7-of-14 shots for 18 points, 11 rebounds, a steal and a block in Wednesday's easy win over the Pistons.
ImpactIf he would just start doing this every night, we'd never have to tell owners to be patient with him again. But his shot is starting to fall more consistently and there's no reason to think he won't be better in the second half of the season.
The bad Hibbert shows up on Monday | 01/29/2013 1:13 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert went back to his struggling ways offensively on Monday, shooting 3-of-12 from the field for eight points with 11 boards, two assists and two blocks in 33 minutes against the Nuggets.
ImpactIt looked like he was finally over his shooting woes due to not shooting below 40 percent in any of his previous eight games. Hopefully, Hibbert can shake this one off in Wednesday's matchup against Andre Drummond, Greg Monroe and the Pistons on Wednesday.
Roy Hibbert plays well against Jazz | 01/27/2013 1:54 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert had 14 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and a block on 6-of-11 shooting in Saturday's OT loss to the Jazz.
ImpactHibbert is shooting 53 percent from the floor over his last five games, averaging 11.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.2 blocks during that stretch, and is also shooting 47 percent in the month of January. His dreadful shooting woes appear to finally be a thing of the past.
Roy Hibbert quiet in loss w/ nine points | 01/24/2013 1:48 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert scored nine points with seven rebounds and one block in 32 minutes as the Pacers got blown out in Portland.
ImpactThe Pacers are a half-game behind Miami for the best home record in the East, at 16-3, but this loss dropped them to just 10-14 on the road. Better play from their supposed franchise center would go a long way toward stabilizing their record, but Hibbert has exactly one double-double in the past 20 games.
Roy Hibbert quiet in loss to Magic | 01/16/2013 10:30 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert hit 5-of-7 shots for 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in Wednesday's loss to the Magic.
ImpactHibbert was coming off one of his better games of the season, and while this was a disappointing line, he shot it well and is now shooting 50 percent from the floor over his last five. Maybe, just maybe, he's about to get his season turned around.
Roy Hibbert 'explodes' for 17 points in win | 01/15/2013 11:24 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert had 18 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in Tuesday's easy win over the Bobcats.
ImpactHe hit just 5-of-11 shots, which is actually an improvement, and even knocked down all eight of his free throws, and this marked his first time to hit double digits in scoring in his last five games. We'd like to think this is a sign he's ready to break out, but it's important to note that he was playing against the hapless Bobcats, while he's only hit double digits in more than two straight games one time this season, which was in early December.
Roy Hibbert blocks six shots in loss to Nets | 01/13/2013 9:42 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert had six points, seven rebounds and six blocks in 31 minutes on Sunday, apparently unbothered by his recent back injury.
ImpactHibbert sprained his back while blocking a shot last Thursday, but he played in consecutive games this weekend and should be ready to go for the Pacers' upcoming three-game week. His totals tonight are somewhat disappointing, outside of the blocks, but he was also navigating foul trouble for most of the game.
Roy Hibbert (back) looks good for Sunday | 01/13/2013 2:19 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert's recent back injury was described as "more of a sprain than a spasm," but there's no indication that it was the cause of his fourth-quarter benching on Saturday.
ImpactHibbert isn't listed on the Pacers' injury report for Sunday and presumably he'll be in the starting lineup, but we should have confirmation closer to tip-off.
| 01/13/2013 3:15 AM
NewsRoy Hibbert returned to action on Saturday January 12.
Roy Hibbert (back spasms) doesn't play in 4Q | 01/12/2013 10:34 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert (back spasms) notched nine points and nine rebounds vs. the Bobcats on Saturday, but he did not play in the fourth quarter.
ImpactHibbert grabbed eight offensive boards but he was benched down the stretch for the quicker and more athletic Ian Mahinmi. It's quite possible that Roy's back was still giving him some trouble, and we're listing him as questionable for Sunday's game as a precaution.
Roy Hibbert's back better, will play Saturday | 01/12/2013 2:59 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert's back spasms have cleared up and he'll play Saturday against the Bobcats.

ImpactHibbert originally hurt himself Thursday while blocking a Tyson Chandler shot. He was in considerable pain at the time, but it appears rest has done the trick. Owners in daily leagues should feel safe getting him back in their lineups.
Roy Hibbert returns from back spasms | 01/10/2013 10:55 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert suffered back spasms in the first half and returned to the game in the third quarter.
ImpactHibbert got the ball right off the bat as he returned and badly missed a hook shot. His owners will want to keep an eye on his status in the next couple days, but it looks like he should be ready to go against the Bobcats on Saturday.
Roy Hibbert has back spasms on Thursday | 01/10/2013 10:10 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert suffered back spasms in the first half of Thursday's game and he is questionable to return.

ImpactHe hasn't really dealt with back spasms in his NBA career and the severity of the injury is not yet known. Hibbert has been a train wreck on offense, shooting just 40.1 percent from the field this season. Ian Mahinmi and Jeff Pendergraph will fill in while Hibbert is out. Mahinmi would be the better speculative add in very deep leagues, but his 8.2 fouls per 48 minutes in his career could limit him.
Hibbert hits 3-of-12 shots in easy win | 01/08/2013 10:55 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert hit just 3-of-12 shots for six points and didn't block a shot in Tuesday's win over the Heat, but did have 14 rebounds.
ImpactHibbert came in hitting over 50 percent of his shots in his previous three games, and it's a good thing, because he's sitting at 40 percent shooting on the season. Which is pathetic for a 7-footer, with or without a dead wrist. He should bounce back in his next one.
Hibbert leads Pacers w/ 20 pts, 15 reb, 5 blk | 01/05/2013 10:34 PM
NewsRoy Hibbert went off in the Pacers' easy win vs. the Bucks, scoring 20 points with five blocks and a career-high 11 offensive rebounds (15 total rebounds).
ImpactHibbert's teammates should get significant credit for the OREB total, since their lousy shooting made his career night possible. This was his first double-double since Dec. 14 and we're not ready to proclaim that he's "back," but he played with an aggression that we haven't seen in quite a while. Now he needs to do it again vs. the Heat on Tuesday.
Frank Vogel is sticking with Hibbert | 01/01/2013 2:46 PM
NewsCoach Frank Vogel remains committed to a heavy role for Roy Hibbert despite the center's offensive struggles.
ImpactHibbert is shooting a ghastly 39.5 percent from the field and 64.3 percent from the line. But he's still seeing 28.6 minutes per night thanks to his defensive prowess. "He's working through it," Vogel said. "He's a big reason why game in and game out, typically we're seeing under 40 percent field goal percentage from our opponents." Hibbert came into this season shooting 48.0 percent for his career. There's some buy-low appeal.
