Report: Demaryius separated shoulder vs. SEA | 02/04/2014 5:37 PM
NewsCBS Denver reports Demaryius Thomas played through a separated shoulder in the Super Bowl.
Vic Lombardi on Twitter
ImpactAccording to reporter Vic Lombardi, Thomas suffered the injury in the first quarter. Thomas took a thundering hit from should-have-been SB MVP Kam Chancellor on his first catch of the game. If true, it adds some gravitas to Thomas' otherwise-empty Super Bowl record of 13 catches. The fact that Thomas played through the apparent injury speaks to the fact that it should have little effect on his preparation for 2014.
Demaryius sets Super Bowl record for catches | 02/02/2014 10:14 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas set a new Super Bowl record for receptions (13) in Sunday's blowout loss to Seattle, totaling 118 yards and a touchdown.
ImpactRunning screens and quick slants, Thomas' first six receptions went for gains of two, six, three, seven, one, and nine. He finally got loose downfield for 19 late in the second quarter, beating Seahawks RCB Byron Maxwell on a comeback jump ball. Demaryius committed the Broncos' third turnover of the game late in the third quarter when Maxwell popped the ball loose at the end of a reception. He did convert Denver's lone score on a 14-yard TD on the last play of the third, high-pointing Peyton Manning's pass over Maxwell. Thomas has posted back-to-back seasons of 90-plus catches, over 1,400 yards, and double-digit touchdowns. He'll be a top-three fantasy wideout pick in 2014.
Broncos offense struggles vs. Jaguars in Wk 6 | 01/30/2014 12:15 PM
NewsWhen the Broncos and Jaguars played in Week 6, Jacksonville's defense limited Denver's offense to 14 points at halftime and the score was 21-19 deep into the fourth quarter.
Silva's Super Bowl Matchups
ImpactIt's notable because the Jaguars' defense is run by ex-Seattle DC Gus Bradley. Denver eventually ran away on three late Knowshon Moreno TDs, but there wasn't a defense in football that gave Peyton Manning & Co. more fits this regular season. Seattle plays the same scheme albeit with far superior players. Jacksonville limited Demaryius Thomas to three catches for 78 scoreless yards, and Julius Thomas to a 4-22-1 line. For a more in-depth look at the Super Bowl Sunday Matchup, read Evan Silva's breakdown at the link below.
Only three snaps at RCB for Richard Sherman | 01/28/2014 9:59 AM
NewsRichard Sherman lined up at right outside cornerback three times during the entire regular season.
Mike Clay's Super Bowl XLVIII Rankings
ImpactAs Mike Clay notes in his Super Bowl Rankings article, Sherman simply isn't a shadow corner. He lines up at left corner 80 percent of the time, and moves to safety on another 15 percent. Thomas, meanwhile, lines up wide to Peyton Manning's left on 48 percent of his snaps. The two stars will face off plenty, but Sherman will see more of Eric Decker. Byron Maxwell will work against Thomas and Walter Thurmond III will look to slow Wes Welker in the slot.
Demaryius shreds Talib-less Pats for 7-134-1 | 01/19/2014 6:37 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas shredded the Patriots for seven catches, 134 yards, and a touchdown in Sunday's AFC Championship game win.
ImpactThe Patriots made no attempt to hide their early shadowing of Demaryius with Aqib Talib. Thomas proceeded to whip Talib down the left seam for a 29-yard first-quarter gain. Demaryius dropped his next target on a crosser, however, and Talib got injured on the play when Wes Welker drilled him from behind. With Talib sidelined, Thomas ripped off back-to-back gains of 26 and 27 late in the first half. Demaryius added a 15-yard pickup on Denver's opening drive of the second half, and gave his team a 20-3 lead by defeating Alfonzo Dennard's press coverage for a three-yard touchdown. Demaryius yet again toasted Dennard for a 30-yard pluck late in the third quarter. Thomas has been a top-five NFL receiver in back-to-back years, and we still feel like he isn't getting enough credit. He is a dominant force on the perimeter and in terms of run after catch.
Demaryius Thomas ready to roll for AFCCG | 01/19/2014 1:51 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas (calf) is active and will start Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Patriots.
ImpactThomas was hampered in practice a bit this week but was listed as probable. He's ready to roll in a date with Aqib Talib. Inactive for the Broncos are QB Zac Dysert, RB Ronnie Hillman, DB Marquice Cole, OL Vinston Painter, OL Chris Kuper, TE Joel Dreessen, and DL Sione Fua.

ImpactThomas is dealing with some tightness in his calf, but it's not a major concern. He's officially listed as probable on the injury report and is fully expected to play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
Demaryius Thomas goes for 8-54-1 in win | 01/12/2014 8:18 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught eight balls for 54 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Divisional Round win over San Diego.
ImpactDemaryius' first grab came on a first-drive quick screen, allowing Thomas to flash his run-after-catch ability and gain nine. No. 88 became the game's first player to score when he boxed out SS Eric Weddle for a two-yard first-quarter touchdown. Each of Demaryius' eight catches went for nine yards or fewer on a day where Denver's offense was balanced and Peyton Manning picked apart San Diego's defense with chain-moving completions. Look for the Broncos to dial up more vertical shot plays in next week's AFC title game versus New England.
Demaryius Thomas (neck) active for Week 17 | 12/29/2013 3:01 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas (neck) is active for Week 17 against the Raiders.
ImpactThomas practiced in full this week despite being listed as probable on the injury report with a neck issue. Eric Decker (thigh) and Jacob Tamme (knee) are also active. The Broncos inactives are QB Zac Dysert, RB C.J. Anderson, WR Wes Welker, DL Derek Wolfe, CB Kayvon Webster, DT Sione Fua, and C Steve Vallos.
Demaryius Thomas (neck) good to go | 12/26/2013 6:06 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas is listed on the Week 16 injury report with a neck issue, but is practicing in full.
ImpactThomas needs 83 yards against the Raiders to reach 1,400 for the second-consecutive season.
Demaryius Thomas practicing in full | 12/19/2013 6:14 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas (shoulder) is practicing in full for Week 16.
ImpactLooking to rebound from a quiet Week 15, Thomas will be a high-end WR1 against a Texans pass defense that isn't nearly as imposing as the numbers would indicate.
Demaryius Thomas held to 4-45 in loss | 12/13/2013 12:24 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught four passes for 45 yards in Denver's Week 15 loss to the Chargers.
ImpactTonight was the first time in eight games that Thomas didn't manage either 100 yards or a touchdown. The Broncos offense simply never got in sync as the Chargers hogged time of possession. It's a one-week blip on the radar for Thomas, who will remain an elite WR1 for Week 16 against the Texans.
Demaryius Thomas probable for Thursday | 12/11/2013 6:07 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas (probable) is probable for Thursday night's Week 15 game versus San Diego.
ImpactThomas banged his shoulder in Week 13 but will be all systems go at close to 100 percent. He's locked in as a WR1 against San Diego's inept secondary.
Demaryius Thomas listed as probable | 12/06/2013 4:57 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas (shoulder) is listed as probable for Week 14.
ImpactThomas practiced fully Friday and will start against Tennessee.
Demaryius Thomas still limited on Thursday | 12/05/2013 4:14 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas (shoulder) remained limited in Thursday's practice.
ImpactThomas is fully expected to start Sunday's game against the Titans. He's locked and loaded as a high-end WR1 for Week 14.
Demaryius (shoulder) limited on Wednesday | 12/04/2013 5:59 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
ImpactThomas hurt his shoulder last week against the Chiefs but later returned to the game and turned three grabs into 106 yards. He'll be fine for Sunday's Week 14 matchup against the Titans and CB Alterraun Verner.
Demaryius Thomas: 3 catches, 106 yards | 12/01/2013 8:11 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas turned three catches into 106 yards in Denver's Week 13 win over Kansas City.
ImpactFantasy owners should be pleased Thomas topped 100 yards because this was a "Decker Game," with Denver's No. 2 receiver torching rookie Chiefs LCB Marcus Cooper relentlessly. Thomas' big play came on a 77-yard catch-and-run, where the official got in the way and may have prevented him from taking it the distance. On the season, Demaryius is the No. 2 overall fantasy receiver behind only Calvin Johnson. Fire him up in Week 14 against Tennessee.
Demaryius Thomas leaves with shoulder injury | 12/01/2013 4:48 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas exited Sunday's Chiefs-Broncos game with a shoulder injury and is questionable to return.
ImpactThe injury occurred in the first quarter. Broncos doctors are checking on the extent of the injury on the sideline. If Thomas is deemed to have avoided any serious damage, he'll reenter. Andre Caldwell has typically been the Broncos' backup at split end receiver, which is Thomas' position.
Demaryius Thomas manages late touchdown | 11/25/2013 1:51 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 12 loss to the Patriots.
ImpactThomas didn't make his first catch until late in the fourth quarter and was shut down by Aqib Talib for most of the game. He managed to score on a jump ball in the end-zone from 11 yards out to send the game to overtime. It's the first time this season he's been held under 52 receiving yards. Thomas still finished with a team-high nine targets and will remain a WR1 in Week 13 against the Chiefs.
Demaryius Thomas posts 121 yards in win | 11/18/2013 12:49 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught five passes for 121 yards in Sunday night's Week 11 win over Kansas City.
ImpactThomas beat Marcus Cooper deep for a 70-yard catch in the first quarter, but was held out of the end-zone after scoring three touchdowns in Week 10. It was his third 100-plus yard game of the season and he finished with a team-high 13 targets. Thomas now has 60 catches, 914 yards, and nine touchdowns through 10 games and will remain high-end WR1 for next week's matchup with the Patriots.
Demaryius Thomas drops 3 TDs on Chargers | 11/10/2013 7:51 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught seven passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns in Denver's Week 10 win over the Chargers.
Demaryius Thomas goes for 82 yards, TD | 10/21/2013 1:55 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas had four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 7 loss to the Colts.
ImpactThomas was able to find the end-zone for the first time since Week 4, scoring on a 31-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He secured just four of his nine targets and was shut down by Vontae Davis for most of the game. Continue to view Thomas as a strong WR1 for next week's matchup with the Redskins.
Demaryius Thomas held to 78 yards in Week 6 | 10/13/2013 7:58 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas managed three receptions for 78 yards in the Broncos' Week 6 win over the Jaguars.
ImpactIt was a surprisingly slow day for the Broncos' passing game because Knowshon Moreno "stole" three rushing touchdowns and Peyton Manning managed "only" 295 passing yards. Thomas came away as the team leader in receiving yardage. Still an every-week, elite WR1, keep Demaryius rolling when the Broncos face the Colts on Sunday Night Football in Week 7. After two slow weeks in a row, Demaryius could be a nice trade target for forward-thinkers.
Demaryius Thomas somehow doesn't score | 10/06/2013 8:27 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught five passes for 57 yards in Sunday's Week 5 win at Dallas.
ImpactThe Broncos scored 51 points and totaled 517 yards, but Thomas wasn't a huge factor with only six targets. Peyton Manning chose to exploit other matchups, namely Julius Thomas against safeties. If anyone in your league is panicked, pounce on Demaryius immediately. He remains the No. 1 wideout in the league's best passing offense. Thomas is going to bounce back big against the Jags in Week 6.
Demaryius hauls in 10 passes in Week 3 win | 09/24/2013 12:41 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught ten passes for 94 yards in Denver's Week 3 win over the Raiders on Monday night.
ImpactThomas hauled in ten of his 11 targets which came mostly on short passes, allowing the 235-pound beast to use his run-after-catch ability. He didn't catch a touchdown for the second week in a row, but that's going to happen in an offense that has many mouths to feed. Look for Thomas to roast the Eagles' burnable secondary next week at home. He's locked in as a top-six fantasy receiver.
Demaryius Thomas posts 52 yards in win | 09/15/2013 8:53 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught five passes for 52 yards in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Giants.
ImpactThomas was targeted on just six of Peyton Manning's 43 passing attempts. He finished behind all three of Wes Welker, Eric Decker, and Julius Thomas in the category. It will likely be one of Demaryius' weaker outputs of the season. He's locked in as a top-six receiver virtually every week.
Demaryius Thomas powers way to 5/161/2 line | 09/06/2013 1:49 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught five passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's Week 1 rout of the Ravens.
ImpactAs usual, Thomas' best work came after the catch, as he put an exclamation point on Denver's 49-27 demolition by taking a five-yard screen 78 yards to the house. Denver's receiver corps is crowded with the addition of Wes Welker, but tonight should erase any doubt that Thomas isn't going to follow-up his elite 2012 with another WR1 performance.
Demaryius reels in seven passes in tune-up | 08/24/2013 10:41 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught seven passes for 64 yards and a touchdown in Saturday night's preseason game against the Rams.
ImpactThomas was targeted a team-high nine times on the night, and he secured his six-yard touchdown in the back of the end zone after beating Rams CB Cortland Finnegan. The Broncos' passing attack had its way with the Rams' basic, vanilla defense all night long. Through three preseason games, Thomas has 11 catches for 123 yards and the one touchdown. He's locked in as a top-six fantasy receiver.
Demaryius Thomas feeling good at camp | 08/14/2013 10:15 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas says he's having one of his best training camps.
ImpactComing off a third-year breakout that saw him finish eighth in receptions (94), fourth in yards (1434) and seventh in touchdowns (10), Thomas has had a smooth offseason. He's completely healthy and going about his business quietly. Although the addition of Wes Welker hurts slightly, Thomas remains a good bet to lead the Broncos in targets once again. He's Peyton Manning's most explosive all-around receiver.
Demaryius Thomas happy to have Welker | 04/16/2013 10:25 AM
NewsDemaryius Thomas said he's expecting more single coverage this season thanks to the arrival of Wes Welker.
Demaryius Thomas has 3/37/1 day in loss | 01/12/2013 10:19 PM
NewsDemaryius Thomas caught three passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Divisional Round loss to the Ravens.
ImpactThomas' 17-yard score in the fourth quarter was one of his patented catch-and-run numbers, but it was an otherwise disastrous day for Denver's ascendant No. 1 receiver. He hurt the Broncos with two calamitous drops, and never got on the same page with Peyton Manning. He was targeted on just seven of Manning's 43 pass attempts. Thomas' 94/1,434/10 regular season has him locked-in as a second-round talent in next summer's fantasy drafts, but it's going to be a long offseason for a former first-round pick who's come all the way back from a torn Achilles' tendon.
