The homer, Valdespin's first of the year, came after he entered the game for Juan Lagares in the eighth inning. The 25-year-old is hitting .347 (17-for-49) with four homers this spring and has played himself into consideration to be a regular part of the starting lineup. The more interesting decision will be whether Terry Collins decides to give him a starting job in right or center.
