Great speed and athleticism, with adequate size. Has great hips and can change directions on a dime. Possesses great body control on over-the-shoulder catches. A threat in the end zone.
Flaws:
Not much of a fighter for the ball. Avoids traffic. He also sometimes lacks concentration leading to drop passes. Absolutely needs to keep his focus to be effective.
Career Potential:
Inconsistent target with upside.

Manningham agrees to $2-plus million pay cut | 03/14/2013 6:15 PM
News
Mario Manningham agreed to a pay cut to stay in San Francisco, slashing his base salary from $3.6 million to $1.8 million.
CSN Bay Area
Impact
Manningham is coming off ACL and PCL reconstruction, so he had no leverage. The total pay cut is actually $2.15 million because Manningham agreed to eliminate a $250,000 offseason roster bonus in addition to a $100,000 workout bonus. Manningham suffered the injury in Week 16 and is not expected to be healthy for training camp. Anything the 49ers get from him in 2013 will be a bonus.
Mario Manningham won't be ready for camp | 02/24/2013 12:09 PM
News
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed at the Combine that Mario Manningham (ACL, PCL surgery) will not be ready for training camp.
Sacramento Bee
Impact
Manningham tore the multiple knee ligaments in Week 16, and we wouldn't be surprised if he opened the 2013 season on PUP. That's assuming he's not released with no guaranteed money left in his contract. The 49ers can't count on Manningham making an impact during the upcoming season, and will work around him.
Manningham likely out for most of camp | 02/07/2013 10:27 PM
News
CSN Bay Area doesn't expect Mario Manningham (ACL surgery) to return before the "latter stages" of camp.
CSN Bay Area
Impact
Even that might be bullish after Manningham went down in Week 16. Manningham is all but guaranteed to begin camp on the active/PUP list, and a definite candidate to spend the first six games of 2013 on reserve/PUP. Due roughly $4 million between salary and bonuses, it's not a given Manninghamm will be back in San Francisco, though the 49ers' weak receiver corps should work in his favor.
