Blessed with top-tier speed and great hands. Is a constant threat to make the big play, especially as a return man. A very hard worker. A decent route-runner at his best in short range.
Flaws:
Somewhat miscast as a true No. 1 receiver: lacks ideal size and overall physicality for a top target and doesn't get great yardage after the catch. Can be slowed down at the jam.
Career Potential:
Slightly above-average wideout / good return man.

Impact
When the Lions acquired Thomas for a fifth-round pick last season, they surely expected more than five catches over nine games. It's a surprising decision from Detroit's standpoint after Thomas was benched for Kris Durham down the stretch. GM Martin Mayhew will hope an offseason to learn the offense improves drop-prone Thomas' production. We're much less optimistic.
