Feisty running the ball, with explosive athleticism and speed to burn. Possesses solid size and is a great blocker. A proven receiver out of the backfield. Also serves as a return man.
Flaws:
Isn't very elusive and takes his fair share of hits, which makes him vulnerable to injuries. Ball security is a question mark. Needs to prove he can carry the heavy load from game to game.
Career Potential:
Above-average tailback / good return man.

Impact
He's expected to return by next week. We don't typically post minor OTAs maladies, but any injury is notable for the fragile Murray. Injury prone throughout his college career, Murray saw his rookie year ended by a broken ankle, and missed six games with a foot injury last season. His yards per carry dipped from 5.5 in 2011 to 4.1. Murray needs to prove he can stay healthy in 2013.
Cowboys RB coach says Murray can be 'elite' | 02/16/2013 9:19 PM
News
Cowboys position coach Gary Brown believes DeMarco Murray has the potential to be an "elite" running back.
Dallas Morning News
Impact
Murray's biggest obstacle will be staying healthy, as he's missed a total of nine games the last two seasons. In the games where Murray has played, he's averaging 4.8 yards-per-carry with 1,560 rushing yards and six touchdowns. "We all know that the injury bug has bit him a little bit," Brown said. "We have to keep him healthy, and he and I will work to just refine some things. Obviously he is a good, talented runner. We just want to shine up some things and get him to be elite."
