|Assets:||Possesses ideal size for a pro wideout, and is very athletic (with burst, speed, acceleration, soft hands, body control, and tremendous instincts). Will fight for the ball and win most of his battles. Has some leadership ability. Is also a willing blocker and adds value as a return man.|
|Flaws:||Remains somewhat a work in progress (as he's not a polished route runner and will need time to adjust at the pro level).|

Harbaugh praises Torrey Smith's leadership | 06/08/2013 9:21 AM
NewsRavens head coach John Harbaugh praised WR Torrey Smith for his leadership and progress on the field.
Impact"We have a lot of leaders on this team, nobody less than Torrey Smith," said Harbaugh. ""He runs all the routes very well. Torrey is a guy that is only going to get better, because he works hard at it." With Anquan Boldin out of the mix, Smith will be counted on to make a bigger contribution in 2013. While we love his upside, we're not confident with Smith as anything more than a WR2 option.
Ray Rice: Torrey Smith ready to step up | 04/23/2013 7:03 PM
NewsTeammate Ray Rice expects Torrey Smith to step up in the absence of Anquan Boldin this season.
Impact"I've seen Torrey Smith get scouted as a guy that just goes deep," Rice said Tuesday. "That's what the scouting report was: `Let's defend the deep ball.' But, then I've seen Torrey Smith run intermediate routes. I've seen Torrey Smith line up in the slot. That's what you call a complete No. 1 receiver." Smith will be counted on to be a more complete player in 2013, but it remains to be seen if he has the chops to morph from a pure deep threat. Smith has high-end WR2 upside.
Newsome: Torrey Smith must step up | 03/17/2013 11:17 AM
NewsRavens GM Ozzie Newsome says the team is counting on Torrey Smith to step up as a leader following the trade of Anquan Boldin.
National Football Post
ImpactThe Ravens will also count on Smith to become a more complete player, running a wider arrange of routes and beating coverage more than taking it away. "Torrey Smith knows exactly what needs to be done now," Newsome said. "He had two years with Anquan. He's been mentored by him." Smith was was held under 50 receptions in 16 starts last year. The Ravens will need 60-plus out of him in 2013.
Torrey Smith held to 35 yards in Super Bowl | 02/04/2013 1:30 AM
NewsTorrey Smith caught two passes for 35 yards in Sunday night's Super Bowl XLVII win over the 49ers.
ImpactThe Ravens did well to win the world title without Smith or Dennis Pitta (4-26-1) making a major impact in the passing game. Smith was targeted six times, but Joe Flacco missed him deep on most of them and Baltimore was forced to turn to Anquan Boldin and Jacoby Jones for big plays downfield. Smith, who just turned 23, finished each of his first two NFL seasons as the No. 23 fantasy receiver in standard scoring. Expect him to hover around the top 20 entering 2013 fantasy drafts.
Torrey Smith has four-catch night vs. Pats | 01/21/2013 12:08 AM
NewsTorrey Smith caught four passes for 69 yards in the Ravens' AFC title game win over the Patriots.
ImpactSmith didn't have quite the night he did against Denver, but still did a good job of stretching the seams and keeping New England's undermanned secondary occupied. Smith is going to be an X factor in Super Bowl XLVII. As Julio Jones and Roddy White showed Sunday afternoon, San Francisco's secondary is burnable.
Aqib Talib expected to match up with Smith | 01/16/2013 12:33 PM
NewsESPN's James Walker expects Aqib Talib to "see a lot of time" on Torrey Smith in Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
ImpactSmith ate up Champ Bailey last week for three catches, 98 yards and two touchdowns. And when the Ravens and Patriots squared off in Week 3, Smith got off for a 6/127/2 line. But now the Pats have Talib, who was able to keep Andre Johnson in check during the Divisional Round win. Smith will be a priority for Talib and the Pats' defense Sunday.
Torrey Smith destroys Broncos for two TDs | 01/12/2013 10:35 PM
NewsTorrey Smith caught three passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns in Baltimore's Divisional Round win over the Broncos.
ImpactSmith had just one catch for seven yards after halftime of the double overtime win, but did all the damage he needed to in the first half. The second-year speedster scorched future Hall-of-Fame CB Champ Bailey on both his touchdowns. Smith reeled in a 59-yard bomb in stride for his first score, and whipped Bailey in the air on his second, a 32-yarder. He got behind Bailey two other times, but was done in by poor throws from Joe Flacco. The outburst came after Smith was held without a catch in the Wild Card round.

ImpactIt's the first time the back has been an issue this season. There's no update from the team as of yet, though we should know more about Smith's status by this evening.
Torrey Smith held to 31 yards in playoff win | 01/06/2013 5:43 PM
NewsTorrey Smith was held to just 31 yards on two receptions versus the Colts in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
ImpactSmith saw just four of Joe Flacco's 23 passes compared to Anquan Boldin's team-leading seven. While he didn't have much of an impact as a receiver, Smith has several key blocks including Dennis Pitta's 20-yard touchdown and Ray Rice's 47 yard pass play. Smith was covered by Champ Bailey in the previous matchup with the Broncos.
