This could shed a little light on the Seahawks' surprise pick of talented RB Christine Michael in the second round. Lynch will not be threatened in this season or next, but Dynasty owners should note that ESPN's Mike Sando expects the team to move on come 2015. Lynch will be 29 and likely unaffordable for a team that will be trying to fit the likes of Russell Wilson, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, Percy Harvinn and Russell Okung under the salary cap.

Coach Pete Carroll insists that the Seahawks will remain a run-first team.
Last year, the Seahawks ranked dead last in pass attempts at just 25.3 per game. That led to a career-high 315 carries for bruising feature back Marshawn Lynch. Now that Percy Harvin is in the mix and Russell Wilson has a year of experience under his belt, Carroll was asked if the offense is going to open up. "No, it doesn't at all," he said. "We're gonna do exactly what we wanna do with continuing to send the message about how physical we are, how we attack with the running game and fit off that. ... This is not a change at all."

Still just 26 years old, Lynch has proven to be one of the most reliable fantasy backs in the NFL. He's a first-round lock for 2013.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll clarified Friday that Marshawn Lynch has a sprained foot, but he's listed as probable for the Divisional Round.
It must be a very mild sprain. Lynch returned to a limited practice on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday's workouts. The Seahawks seem to believe the sprain won't affect Lynch's performance in Sunday's early-afternoon matchup with the Falcons. During the regular season, only the Kansas City Chiefs allowed more rushing yards after contact than Atlanta's defense did.

Lynch often misses early-week practices, but he's sat out back-to-back days just one time all season. Since Carroll didn't include him in the injury recap, beat writers expect Lynch to return to practice Friday. He's likely to just getting extra rest.

If it was any other player but Lynch, we would be concerned about his status for Sunday's game. The Seahawks have expressed no doubt over Lynch's status, and he's been absent or limited for Thursday practices a half-dozen times this season. Lynch has rushed for 85+ yards in 23 of his past 26 games.

It's a new injury for Lynch, who is typically listed as "limited" or "DNP" with a back injury. Nevertheless, there hasn't been any concern about Lynch's status for Sunday's game amongst the coaching staff or local media, and we fully expect "Beast Mode" to be his usual self against the Falcons.

An afterthought in a Redskins-dominated first quarter, Lynch picked up a Russell Wilson fumble and rambled 20 yards to set up Seattle's first touchdown. He broke free for a 27-yard score on third down to give the Seahawks their first lead of the day in the fourth quarter. Lynch joins Shaun Alexander as the only backs in franchise history with multiple 100-yard rushing games in the postseason. He's a good bet to keep rolling against a mediocre Falcons run defense in the Divisional round of the playoffs.
